Remember in 2004 the RW smears of botox? |
|
Remember the ca-ca that was being flung about Kerry have botox done? Remember the outrage over that here?
Just reminding everyone. Not that ANY 'progressive' would say the same about Hillary. Why that would NEVER happen!

1. And I'm sure her awesome health insurance pays for it. Or, more appropriately, we pay for it. |

2. Any man who looked as worn out as Hillary did last night would be getting the same treatment |
|
If she's the nominee, I say botox away, Hilly. Just don't go on TV looking like that again.

Is THIS the new standard for women politicians?
I'm sure as hell glad that Eleanor Roosevelt isn't alive today..."Hey, Eleanor...you look like crap! Go get some work done, ok"? :eyes:

7. Give the "girl" some credit, she's much better looking than Eleanor |
|
Yeah, and Jefferson's stutter wouldn't have doomed him in this day and age, nor would Lincoln's pre-telegenic looks.
In other words, wake up. :eyes:

While I have you here, did you have any problem with a 59-year-old woman calling herself a girl last night? A little odd, wasn't it?

12. Appearances matter...yeah, I'm WAY out on a limb here |
|
Gore's weight, Edwards' haircut, Richardson's double chin; Obama's dumbo ears referenced above, etc.
The conceit that only women have to worry about their looks these days is something well worth debunking, yep.

14. I actually saw it HERE first, in 2003 |

To set the record straight. But you're right, it's got no place on a progessive board. Nor does talk of Dennis' shirt, or homeruns, or whether a candidate would do better if he were black or a woman.

15. I mentioned this in another thread. |
|
It shows that Clinton's claim that the media are critiquing her looks just because she's a woman is bullshit. They do it to male candidates, too.
Edwards has received more hair coverage than Clinton has or ever will. And that's pretty much the only coverage Edwards gets, which, as a male, it is probably worse for him than it would be for Clinton, because it is not socially acceptable for a male to be so concerned about his appearance.
And I bet Clinton's use of botox will not receive as much attention as Kerry's. So the idea that she's not taken seriously because she's a woman, that they only focus on her appearance, is simply not true.
