Conquering the Drawbacks of Democracy
Author: Philip Atkinson

President George W. Bush is the 43rd President of the United States. He was sworn in for a second term on January 20, 2005 after being chosen by the majority of citizens in America to be president.
...
When faced with the possible threat that the Iraqis might be amassing terrible weapons that could be used to slay millions of citizens of Western Civilization, President Bush took the only action prudence demanded and the electorate allowed: he conquered Iraq with an army.

This dangerous and expensive act did destroy the Iraqi regime, but left an American army without any clear purpose in a hostile country and subject to attack. If the Army merely returns to its home, then the threat it ended would simply return.

The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead. Then there would be little risk or expense and no American army would be left exposed. But if he did this, his cowardly electorate would have instantly ended his term of office, if not his freedom or his life.
...
If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies.
...
President Bush can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming “ex-president” Bush or he can become “President-for-Life” Bush: the conqueror of Iraq, who brings sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court. Then who would be able to stop Bush from emulating Augustus Caesar and becoming ruler of the world? For only an America united under one ruler has the power to save humanity from the threat of a new Dark Age wrought by terrorists armed with nuclear weapons.

5. I really want to believe that that kind of hate isn't genetic but..
I think we're in the realm of pure evil with this particular Republic.

Is evil genetic? I guess it could be if it has something to do with brain wiring.

8. This needs a rewrite:
"Resident George W. Bush was sworn in for a second term on January 20, 2005 after being chosen by Diebold to be president.

When faced with the possible threat that the Iraqis might be amassing terrible weapons that never existed, Resident Bush took the only action prudence demanded and the electorate allowed: he invaded Iraq without a single sound plan for what to do once the army got there.

This dangerous and expensive act (expensive? Ya bet your ass it was, and still is - just look at Halliburton's profits!) destroyed the Iraqi regime, but left an American army without any clear purpose -- except for the overwhelming purpose of stealing Iraq's oil and handing it over to Dick Cheney's buddies.

The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands - that 'demand' originally having been to become 'liberated' -- or until they were all dead (give it time, we're getting there - over a million dead and counting).

Then there would be little risk or expense and no American army would be left exposed. But if he did this, his cowardly electorate (that would be his rubber-stamping GOP majority) would have instantly ended his term of office, if not his freedom or his life (oh, please, let me DREAM ...)

If President Bush copied Julius Caesar (not feasible - you can't 'copy' the actions of someone you can't read about, by virtue of the fact that you CAN'T READ) by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans (because what American wouldn't want to live in a country which, thanks to Bush, has little water, little electricity, and is virtually a ruin?), he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military (yeah, he is SO POPULAR with the military who he sent into combat under-equipped while he cut their pay and benefits!); enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it a TARGET for every surrounding pissed-off Arab nation), and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies. (Well, I don't know what 'prestiege' is, but if it's anything akin to 'prestige', I doubt America would be rolling in it after wiping out millions of Iraqi civilians).

President Bush can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming “ex-president” Bush (he doesn't have to wait until he becomes ex-president Bush - he's ALREADY failed in his duty to his country and his God), or he can become “President-for-Life” Bush (as long as it doesn't interfere with brush-clearing, vacations, and drinking binges).

Who could stop Bush from emulating Augustus Caesar and becoming ruler of the world? (the only appropriate response to that is ) For only an America united under one ruler has the power to save humanity from the threat of a new Dark Age wrought by terrorists armed with nuclear weapons. (The world already has a terrorist armed with nuclear weapons, and we don't have to look too far afield to figure out who THAT is).

Some people just NEED to be institutionalized - they represent a danger to themselves and others.

9. And I'll bet this Philip Atkinson believes in Jesus & God.
If you or I wrote this, we'd be hauled in for treatment, or at least for being a threat to society. But because he supports bu$h, he is considered sane.

12. This tripe is actually in print? It actually begins with the erroneous
premise that Bush was elected....it goes steadily downhill from there.
