Lee Terry antsy for a declared candidate

WASHINGTON — Sen. Chuck Hagel hasn't ruled out a presidential bid in 2008, but Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb., doesn't see it happening.

"It appears to me that he's got other plans," Terry said this week.

The Omaha congressman has been lending his support to Republican Fred Thompson, even though the former Tennessee senator also hasn't officially announced his candidacy.

Terry helped host a Washington fundraiser for Thompson last month, along with about two dozen current and former congressmen.

"He is my favorite right now," Terry said in an interview.

Hagel, a two-term Republican, has been pondering for months whether to seek the White House, run for re-election or retire.

1. You know, this just makes PERFECT sense. A republican stooge who

only made it to Congress on his father's name (he was a well-known news reporter) who's never done anything worthwhile on his own endorsing a B-grade bad actor/lobbyist/ex-politician.

Republicans, like water, DO sink to their own level.

As for any endorsement of Hagel, well, other than his opposition to the Iraqi war, he's just as bad as the rest. What can you say about a guy who votes against healthcare for poor kids?

2. I'm curious as to why it's so important for Lee "Dweeb" Terry to have

someone to endorse. WTF? Is his life so empty? I guess he just wants to be the first in line to give blow jobs to the next (potential) Repub prez. He's such a pathetic dickwad.
