A question re. Dems who vote amnesty for the Junta
Edited on Thu Aug-09-07 03:09 PM by TechBear_Seattle
This is in regards to the Junta's demand that Congress pass a bill giving amnesty to people involved "authorized" wiretapping as mentioned in this thread and others. The consensus seems to be that, as with the treasonous FISA bill, there will be a sufficient number of Democrats in favor of this amnesty that it will pass.

My question is: Should those Democrats who vote in favor of amnesty be stripped of courtesy as Democrats? Specifically with regards to Democratic Underground, should we class those Representatives and Senators who support what even the Junta acknowledges to be illegal activities as "not Democrats" and thus posters to openly advocate for their removeal from office?

As a follow-up: If your answer is no, is there any action so heinous, any vote so traitorous to the Constitution, that could cause an elected Democrat to be stripped of DU's consideration for Democrats or is that consideration sacrosanct for ALL elected persons with a (D) after their name, no matter how much treason they promote?

2. This is meant as a serious question
At what point to Democrats cease to be Democrats? Is there any metric when we can say, "Enough is enough"?

3. No, it's not a serious question.
Because A) you position yourself as the only arbiter of what a Democrat is and B) you preemptively put anyone who answers on the defensive. That's not a question - that's asking people to self-flagellate.
