Senator Tom Daschle: Tell Senator John Ensign to Stop Attacking Tim Johnson E action

Just click the link above.

I am disappointed. I wish I could say I am surprised, but I am not that naïve. Not after what they did in 2004.

So I am not surprised that last week, Senator John Ensign (R-NV), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), said the “GOP is no longer putting off mounting an aggressive campaign to unseat Sen. Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) -- even though the two-term incumbent is still recovering from a brain aneurysm."

I think we can all guess what “aggressive” means. We can expect John Ensign, Karl Rove, and the national Republicans to attack Tim Johnson while he is doing everything he can to recover and serve the people of South Dakota.

This is sad and desperate, and Tim needs you now.

On Wednesday Senator Ensign stated, “It’s time…Obviously, we are all still concerned. But this is a United States Senate seat. He was a top target before his health problems and he’s still a top target.”

Sorry Senator Ensign, this is South Dakota, and that’s not how we do things here. As I’ve said in the past, in South Dakota when a farm or ranch family suffers some tragedy, the neighbors get together and harvest the corn or wheat, or tend to the livestock. We’re all dependent on each other here. In the end, we’re all connected.

Tim’s focus should be on his recovery to serve the people of South Dakota, not fending off classless political attacks from national Republicans. That means we’re not going to sit back and wait for the right-wing slime machine to attack Tim Johnson. We have to fight back.

Send an email to Senator John Ensign today! Tell him to stop the attacks on Senator Tim Johnson.

Tim is working hard every day on his recovery – for his family and for the people of South Dakota. Thank you for fighting back for him.

Sincerely,

Senator Tom Daschle

1. John Ensign IGNORES people who aren't his loyal Repuke constituents.
He has never bothered to respond to me when I have written to him, and I knew him personally in college.

SHAME on this RW empty-headed pretty-faced fascist.

2. Just wondering . . .
Are you suggesting that the GOP should not run a candidate against Senator Johnson, just because he is ill?
