Repukes cursing at volunteer 4-H'ers working for PBS pledge drive... |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-10-07 10:39 PM by holboz
I couldn't believe it. I was watching Arkansas's PBS station (AETN)and they have a local 4H club volunteering and manning the phones tonight for their pledge week.
Apparently there were some Repukes who did not like the Bill Moyers program on tonight in which he discussed the issue of impeachment, and they were calling the pledge drive phone bank and SWEARING at these kids from the Benton County 4H. The announcer actually had to go on air and tell people that these are young people answering the phones and their duty is to take your pledge, not engage in debate, and to please refrain from using the foul language.
Just goes to show the cretin mentality of Repukes. disgusting. Now please excuse me whilst I call to make a pledge in support of my local public broadcasting station!!
on edit - preposition change!

I noticed on PBS.org, one comment complained that it was a one sided interview (even though they claimed they were not enamored of Bush). Do the idiots realize that Bruce Fein is a conservative constitutional scholar who wrote the first article of impeachment against Bill Clinton. This is a constitutional crisis not a partisan issue.

11. More likely "trophy house trash" |

Some of those nouveau riche types have no class whatsoever.
But seriously, a lot of so-called "trailer trash" are people who have been stuck in generations of poverty and deserve answers from the Democrats instead of scorn.

16. Wasn't there a bull riding show or a rerun of 24 for them to watch? Do Republicans watch PBS? |

I'm given to understand that there are shows on Satitty and Sunday nights that originate from the BBC!
But then again, they might find Hyacinth Bucket a sympathetic character. . .

18. I guess they simply weren't paying attention ... |
|
What I got from the show is that the special presidential powers are very dangerous and corrupting, and that they were just as likely to be abused by a Democratic president as by a Republican. And there was Bill Moyers, in the role of the devil's advocate as he tried to get his guests to back down, on the basis of national security!
I admire FDR -- but if even such a demonstrably good and great man ended up signing the Executive Order that eventually led to my entire family being dispossessed and put in an internment camp (in WWII) -- really, there have to be safeguards on this kind of thing.
