Obama at a conference of black journalists addressing the concern about whether he is black enough. I LOVE this man!

1. What a shitty question, really. Offensive.
Is he IRISH enough? Is she Italian enough? Is this one LITUANIAN enough? Is that one CHINESE enough...or maybe the reverse--TOO CHINESE???

It's a horrible question. INSULTING. Un-American. And I really don't care if it's Black journalists, or Green ones, asking it. And I don't really give a shit about the context.

We have a ways to go.

6. No, I didn't. I don't have a problem with Obama doing whatEVER he has to do to
answer. If he's great, good for him. If he was able to amuse, to deflect, even better.

I just find the very asking of the question incredibly...rude.

"Black enough" means? It sounds devisive.......

It seems to me that we all basically want the same things; good education, good jobs, health care, good wages, benefits and pension.

I realize different groups have some different issues and that's fine, but I also know that the rethugs love to divide people, in order to mobilize some of the most hateful, prejudice people......they love their wedge issues.

5. did you watch the whole video?
The "black enough" refers to the bullshit MSM nonsense question de jour poll that monkeys can vote on repeatedly (moles for Diebold ?).

Stand back and take a good look at this guy. Clear your mind of all the piles of leftover snark and other debris and just take a good look. Don't form your opinion on anything other than your own good sense - and imagination.

That's all I'm saying.

8. Missing from the clip: Actual blacks who question Obama's blackness
"Some blacks say..."

"Some blacks ask..."

:wtf:

Where are these mysterious blacks?

SHAME on Don Lemmon for such shoddy reporting!

10. Geesh!! It's true! Does anyone around here have a sense of humor???
 I guess not. The humor that got a roar of laughter from the entire room was completely lost on the crowd here.

12. It's just that racial shit isn't funny sometimes.
What if he was asked, seeing as he's half caucasian, if he were White enough?

Race is too often used to divide. There's too much emphasis of "difference" and not enough discussion of the things that unite us. It's just tiresome at times.

I haven't watched the clip. I don't think Obama should be required to "perform" to deflect a question that should never have been asked--IMO. Unless we're going to dissect the ancestry of EVERY candidate, ad infinitum. The context of that question isn't heritage, or pride--it's "Do you make the grade? Do you have the right AMOUNT to be 'authentic' enough"--authentic enough for whom?

I wouldn't think worse of him if he tanked while answering the question either. It was a rude inquiry.

13. .
I hate the idea that people have to be "black" enough or "woman" enough. What exactly does that mean? Just b/c he doesnt talk like Al Sharpton doesnt mean he's not black. x(

When you can't get past those ears!

Remember your sense of humor. Bigots never really laugh.

16. It is true the MSM is the one that is trying to push this. African Americans
have no problem with Obama. The media is trying to sway the African American vote. However, they are wise to know this and do not give a damn about what the media states. They also knows the media is trying to push a candidate for them. It will not work as well.
