Hillary Clinton is number 8 on the GQ Most Powerful in DC list !
Link below She is ranked as more powerful than Rove! Why then hasn't she been able to do anything to end the war or pursue healthcare? Why is it only that only now that she is running for President does she mention these things Just curious.

1. GQ is your source for who's powerful in DC? GQ?
Did they give you your monthly horoscope, too?

Talk about reaching.

GQ magazine ranks Leahy 18th most powerful person in Washington

Associated Press - August 15, 2007 11:15 AM ET

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - GQ magazine says Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy is the 18th most powerful person in Washington.

The magazine says Leahy and Representative Henry Waxman, both Democrats, are tied for 18th. The magazine says Leahy and Waxman are demanding accountability of people who have grown accustomed to skirting it.

The magazine says Leahy and Waxman have launched hearings into every scandal, including the Valerie Plame leak, the CIAs overseas prisons, the Jack Abramoff affair, FEMA's response to Katrina, and the U.S. Attorney firings.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice tops the list as the most powerful person in Washington, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is second.

10. I have noticed that too.

I respect his/her long term goals but slamming and whining won't shake that monkey on the back.....Acting like a cigarette smoker without a lighter.

Tantrums only get one an occasional quick fix...never solving or fulling the need. I see Hillary has worked on this plan for a very long time...I know and realize this......First she must win the Presidency...Then, we can work on the action steps.

13. How is this "slamming her"to question what she does?
Frankly, I am surprised that her supporters haven't been touting this placement as a "credential"!

15. if you "questioned"
Edited on Wed Aug-15-07 03:33 PM by ccpup
Obama, Edwards and Kucinich as stridently and obsessively as you did Hillary, it wouldn't be perceived as "slamming". But, to my knowledge, you don't. So, yes, in many eyes, it IS slamming.

16. I don't have as many "questions" about those candidates..
Odd, the only other people who accuse me of being are the Sheehan supporters. But whatever.

18. just fess up, saracat
you enjoy bashing Hillary! it's not a bad thing. I may not agree with how you focus your time and energy, but we're free to do what we choose and believe in who we choose.

It would just be easier -- and perhaps more honest? -- if you didn't try to cloak your obvious dislike of Hillary in some kind of "I'm doing this to balance those who like her" bullsh*t. You're not fooling anyone. But, again, different strokes for different folks.

19. Oh I admit I don't like Hillary.I have said that before! I think she would be a disaster!
And I certainly hope she doesn't get the nomination. If she does get the nod, I hope I have been wrong. But I have never pretended to "like " Hillary! Unless anyone can convince me otherwise, it is going to be difficult for me to hold my nose and vote for her in the general;.But if she is the nominee. I will try.

we agree to disagree. Bush was a disaster. I think Hillary would just be a President you don't particularly like. Fair enough.

11. It is to make up for those that overpromote her! I am giving some balance to the picture.
Plus, unless anyone can convince me otherwise, I believe her nomination would be a disaster. I hope I am wrong! Really!

14. I guess
if one is over-reaching for an excuse to justify one's obviously biased behavior, an attempt to balance the promotion of her on DU could suffice.

Still, though, I see your name and instead of thinking I'll learn something new, have a quick laugh or nod or shake my head in agreement, I immediately -- and sadly -- assume 'oh, another tedious bashing of Hillary'. Is that what you're trying to accomplish?

This undeniable fixation on bashing Hillary might be distracting you from offering something else to DU and those who choose to click on your Posts. Just a thought.

Edited on Wed Aug-15-07 03:14 PM by SaveElmer
The answer would be clear...but of course that would make moot your favorite pastime...

Excatly what did Obama do to warrant being #20?
