Did anyone see last week that the Saudis were inching closer to
talks with Isreal...

Now remember, the Saudis are Sunni and are really concerned about the Iranian backed Iraqi Shi'ite pushing the British out of Southern Iraq and taking control of the Iraqi access to the Gulf...

Think about it...

The Saudis are worried about their Sunni brothers in Iraq being expelled and coming south...

Israel and Lebanon are dealing with Hezbullah, a group clearly linked to the Shi'ite sect of Islam...

The Saudis are perhaps being pushed into supporting Israel because they are worried about a Persian Gulf becoming a Persian controlled Gulf if the Iranians take control of Southern Iraq...

It's getting crazy over there and my biggest concern is that the Bush team, Condi and Karen Hughes, are not capable of negotiating any kind of peace between the waring factions of Islam...

The Shi'ite is about to hit the fan...

And they ain't worried about fighting us here in the US, they are perfectly content to take it to us in their backyard and reclaim control of that part of the world resurrecting the ancient Persian Empire...

They want to control the whole Gulf area and sell all the oil to China...

That would fuck us more than any terrorist attack within the US...

Mark my words...

And then there is Russia...

But that is for another post...

3. very astute analysis
and you might be dead-on with this. With our large population and such high-consumption, we're extremely dependent on oil supplies, and even minor fluctuations could cause enormous misery for us here.

4. Iran's been busy
Achmadenijad met with Afghanistan, Iraq, Russia, and the "Stans this week. I think we may be closer than we think to irreversible alliances. Not good. I think the nutballs in this Administration actually think we can defeat them militarily, maybe they even think it's the apocalyptic war. I don't know. But I do think they want it.
