New CBS Poll: HRC - 45, BO - 25, JE - 14.
Edited on Wed Aug-15-07 05:54 PM by rinsd
(CBS) Sen. Barack Obama's perceived lack of experience may be a huge obstacle to his chances of winning the Democratic presidential nomination, according to a CBS News poll released Wednesday.

While Obama is seen as the candidate offering fresh new ideas, Sen. Hillary Clinton is seen as the one with the right experience to be president. Clinton continues to hold a commanding lead over Obama, 45 percent to 25 percent, among those planning to vote in a Democratic primary. Former Sen. John Edwards is third with 14 percent.

Clinton is also seen as being more electable than Obama, and some voters think Obama's race and even his name may be a problem for him next November.

More than half of voters (51 percent) think Obama, a first-term U.S. senator from Illinois, does not have the right kind of experience to be a good president, compared with 29 percent who think he does.

5. I think he should make the open government the centerpiece of his campaign.
Think about it. He OWNS that issue and has already made strides towards more government transparency in his time in the Senate.

It also gives him a launch point to criticize the Bush admin. and attack people's general mistrust of politicians in general.

13. You're a nice guy Katz,
and one of the reasons I still stop in on some Obama threads to give support. I don't let nasty posters decide who I'll vote for, but I generally won't contribute anything positive to their threads.

It's kind of nice being neutral during the primaries lol. (ok, there's one I can't stand, but it's not Clinton or Obama)

16. "An oversample of African Americans was also conducted for this poll"
from the fine italic print at the end...
Are they hinting that they assumed African Americans would automatically pick Obama in their poll questions?
That's pretty convoluted logic - and perhaps even more than a bit racist, imo.

7. Well the problem is she lacks experience also as far as Rudy Pudy Guliania
As far as he's concern both Obama and Clinton lack executive experience which i hate to say it he has a point thats why its hard for senators to win the white house

12. Ever seen a segment of "Jaywalking" on the Tonight Show.
I have no doubt that 10-20% of those polled see "Clinton" and automatically think that Bill Clinton is running again. Another 5% think that "Hill"ary Clinton was the President last time because they believe that "Bill" and "Hill" are the same person.

One woman was shown a picture of John Edwards and said that it was Al Gore. That's the kind of electorate that we are dealing with. I don't trust Clinton's poll numbers at all, but I'm a thinker who's normally right, so what do I know?

17. No one has really "attacked" Hillary Clinton. You haven't seen an attack until she is nominated.
John Edwards on the other hand has been attacked with fake scandal after fake scandal since February.

18. 7% of people think Obama is a Muslim?
:wtf:

From the same article: ==Thirty-eight percent think Obama's name will be a problem for many voters, while 58 percent think it won't be. One in 10 say Obama's name reminds them of Osama bin Laden or associate the name with terrorism. And 7 percent think, incorrectly, that Obama is a Muslim.==

Most Americans don't even know who the hell Obama is. All they know right now is that he's some black guy that Rush Limbaugh sings racist songs about. The whole 'experience' excuse is just a euphemism for 'I have no clue who the guy is, but I don't want to appear ignorant or misinformed.' In the end, neither Obama nor Hillary have experience. They're both legislators; their entire experience extends to sitting on committees and attending fundraisers. Neither of them have any experience leading people or government in an executive role.
