Unfortunately, the Federal officials have confirmed that they were "retreat mining". MSNBC is the only one, so far, that has confirmed this fact and has explained what it is. Michele Kosinski of MSNBC gave a wonderful definition of it this morning and also said that the mine was scheduled to close a year ago. Retreat mining is extremely dangerous and foolish. But, I guess that does not matter to the mine owners who send in the workers. Especially since most, if not all, of the workers are mexican and only speak spanish. They may be illegal and therefore would never be able to sue the company. Perfect setup.
