Eight Democrats to meet for 1st Iowa debate

The first Iowa debate of the 2008 Democratic presidential campaign is scheduled for 8 a.m. Sunday at Drake University in Des Moines and will involve eight candidates. The 90-minute program will be shown live on ABC television as a special edition of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
CANDIDATES PLANNING TO PARTICIPATE:
Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel, U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.
MODERATORS: Stephanopoulos and Des Moines Register political columnist David Yepsen will moderate the debate. Also, ABC News has solicited questions from viewers.
WHERE TO WATCH: The debate will be shown on all Iowa ABC affiliates at 8 a.m. Sunday. Later that day, C-SPAN will rebroadcast it at 5:30 p.m., and it will be available for viewing on the Internet after 2 p.m. at abcnews.go.com/politics.
