They said Truman was unelectable...
well the pundits did but he went out there and campaigned and campaigned and campaigned and won.

In 1940 and in 1948...so to say that someone is unelectable now, is folly.

And no one say "oh well now is different." Not really, still have to go out there and talk to the average voter, still have to get volunteers to help out and still have to make speeches.

I say this because I am tired of the "oh he cannot win or she is unelectable." I mean that about both Kuncinich and Clinton. We do not know, this far out, if someone is going to lose or not.

3. Exactly, the pundits said "Dewey is going to win." Said the same thing about
him in 1940 and you know what? Both times someone else kicked his ass.

I am just tired of the "unelectable" crap.

5. Back then they used to count them votes too...
Republicans back then were lame ducks because everyone remembered the little present that they brought last time they were in power: the recession of 29.

Ever since then, the GOP has tried to shape perception by basically taking over the media. That is why to this day, 90%+ of GOP voters are actually voting against their interests. And they do so happily, such is the power of the GOP framing machine.

Kucinich will never win, the media will stack the perception against him, and who are going to believe our eyes or the voting machines with no paper trail who are made by corporations controlled by GOP members?

8. Might want to reread what was going on...The Ds had been in power for
a very long time at that point, the control of the House and Senate was thrown to the Republicans after the 1946 elections...yet he managed to go from nothing to winning election.

4. I agree!
I think Kucinich is far too smart to let anyone tell him he's not "electable," especially now...

He'll work till he's done...

And if we're smart, we'll join him and work for him as well...

Go Dennis! :bounce: :bounce:

7. DU hardly represents the majority of the Democratic base
That's why I laugh when I see people who say "I will not vote for Hillary if she's the nom", as if it would have an impact.
