. . .another candidate. Basically sophisticated name calling? How many of us think our candidate or candidates are not "corporate Democrats" while accusing the other guy as being a "corporate Democrat?"

For instance my guy is Barack, I don't think he is corporate, however I bet others think he is.

1. Here's a quick way to figure it out:
If your candidate isn't Kucinich, he or she is a corporate Democrat. :sarcasm:

See how simple it is?

2. yes, sure - it's sophisticated name calling
and most Americans are going to hear it, shrug their shoulders, and say, "whaaa?".

3. The only problem is...
Edwards is as much a "corporate democrat" as any of them.

10. Corporate law firms for one... but more...
Corporate interests are supporting him in droves... go here

http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/index.asp?cycle=2008

Edwards is receiving (in proportion to his overall take) nearly as much from "corprate interests) as everyone else. He just isn't as good at raising money over all.

Edwards raised $223,000 (of his 23 million) from hedge funds. Hilary $643,000 ( of her 63 million).

Edwards raised $660,000 from "Securities and Investments). Hilary 2.9 million... a higher % for Clinton here, but still not enough of a difference for him to label her a "corporate democrat" without it pointing to him as well.

And let us not forget the money from NewsCorp that he didn't really completely give away.

In the end, he is as much a "corporate democrat" as any of them.

5. CEOs think Obama is corporate. But what would they know? Read Katz' thread
Since when is calling a Democrat in the pocket of corporate interests bad? Progressives have done that for years...Obama continues to change progressivism as we know it. Corporate America must be glad Obama has made many progressives love corporate influence. They know what they are paying for...

8. The DLC originally wanted to call themselves the Corporate Democrats.
So it's originally their terminology.

9. Dennis Kucinich, Cleveland Public Power, The Illuminating Company, Cleveland Trust
Edited on Thu Aug-23-07 01:47 PM by Stanchetalarooni
Kucinich bucked the corporate system of mutual back scratching and was forced out of office as the mayor of Cleveland back in the 1970's.
Perhaps the name calling is a valid descriptor of the majority of contenders for the Democratic nomination.

edit - Cleveland Public Power is going strong with lower electricity rates for citizens of Cleveland due to Kucinich' stand. He took the hit for the citizens of Cleveland. Any other candidates willing to do so for the USA?
