So why did John Edwards snub the VFW convention?
You don't pass on opportunities like this to address a national audience especially one where foreign policy and national security matters are of prime concern. To me, it's the little things like this that symbolizes why Edwards is failing to gain a broad national audience. Hillary and Obama showed up. Edwards did not.

1. Probably for the same reason I won't join a VFW.
Although I'm a Vietnam era veteran, I've found most of their post's I've visited to be filled with narrow minded, right wing bigots, and their national leadership to be even worse.

6. Because
He didn't want to be seen anywhere near that pathetic piece of horseshitfromfuckinghell Dubya?

Or because he has a little bit of common sense.

W and the rest of the lot used the vets like some sort of backdrop for their fucking photo op.

What the hell has anyone done about the despicable conditions at Walter Reed?

Support the Troops my ass.

7. Vets, Thank you for your service and I appreciate your opinion as
being authentic & credible due to experience.
It appears from reports, the (VFW) vets were there to hear McCain.

Hillary & Obama do not have to feel uncomfortable or answer

"Where were you or what were you doing during Vietnam?"

Edwards, b. 1953, #178/1972 SS Draw.......does.

I believe he has said when questioned about this, I missed it...they weren't drafting as many, as much, etc.when I got out of High School or something along those lines.

Edwards and I are the same age. Every male I graduated with, got called or lived in fear.

I'm sure he would prefer to avoid any direct questions. I would, if I were male.
