Democrats 2008: Hillary 42%, Obama 21% (Gallup, Aug 13-16, Gore included)
Hillary Rodham Clinton maintains a high level of support in the race for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in the United States, according to a poll by Gallup released by USA Today. 42 per cent of respondents would vote for the New York senator in a 2008 primary.

Illinois senator Barack Obama is second with 21 per cent, followed by former U.S. vice-president Al Gore with 15 per cent, and former North Carolina senator John Edwards with 11 per cent. 3. Meanwhile Fred "Froggie" Thompson has spent millions trying to generate interest
and he's polling about the same as Gore. Imagine what would/will happen when Gore announces. I know a number of people who say they would work and vote for Gore if he declared but until he does they support various candidates.

4. I think he has a veritable army at his disposal.
I would implode with delight if he throws his hat in the ring.

2. Jesus, this is getting ridiculous
Apparently, having Edwards, Obama and Kucinich splitting the not-Hillary vote wasn't enough for this right-wing front group. They had to throw Gore in the mix to dilute the opposition as much as possible.

It's so fucking transparent, it would be funny if not for the possible results of their actions.

5. What polling agency would you trust?
Is there a polling agency that is not a "right-wing front group"?

6. Gallup has been exposed many times for their pro-GOP bias
Almost any other independent pollster would be better.

17. That doesn't matter to many people
They treat all these polls as Gospel truth- no matter what they say- or how absurd the result.

7. Amen to polling agencies being "RW front groups"...
It has to be a bunch of bull to have Gore trailing anyone. ...The man is up for a NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!
I just can't see it.

9. all mathematical proof aside
i don't put a lot of stock in polls.

People lie.

And in all likelihood many who WOULD support Gore don't pick him simply because has not entered. They answer based on the assumption they have to pick from the only two that faux/cnn tell them are actually candidates. Self-fulfilling prophecy.

Without extraneous factors, polls can be pretty predictive. But any factor that the pollsters don't think to include in their model can make them useless.

12. there are scores of people
"up for" a Nobel Prize. Being nominated is virtually meaningless.

Plus, he's not going to win it.

8. Here's one of many writeups on how Gallup cooks their sample data to achieve a desired outcome.

Just google "Gallup" "GOP" "bias" for a flood of articles on the Fox News of pollsters.

11. 15% of people are delusional
Gore's not running. He said so; I believe him. If he's lying, he's certainly not the man you want running this country, anyway; we already have a liar in the White House, thank you.

Gore's much better as an activist helping people realize the dangers of global warming and climate change. This is an issue that will extend beyond the limits of a presidential term.

He has not ruled out running. Just because you'd like it that way, doesn't make it so.

13. I think the only people that I have met
who are Pro-Hilary are here on DU... like 5 or 6 of you. And I'm a salesman... I meet nearly 15 people every day of the week and often work 6 days a week. I don't know where these numbers come from.
