2. Which one? The one where we have to "unify" with the rethuglicans?
Edited on Fri Aug-24-07 10:32 AM by truebrit71
Or the one where we get to nuke Pakistan?

I had high hopes for the Senator, but he has proven up to this point to be an awful lot of style, and not enough substance...things could change though...but this whole "can't we get along with the Rethuglicans" ain't happenin' for me....Fuck them. Fuck them all for what they have done to this country. And fuck the idea that we need to unify with the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing morans that support them...

What the fuck have they done for the sake of unity?

I'll tell you.

Fuck all.

And that's EXACTLY what they should get in return....

The country needs healing, not more internal unrest.

18. Technically, hating Republicans does not create a divide
Nobody is forced to be Republican. Divides are created when politicians persecute people due to things they have no (or little) control over.

21. Bridges need to be built from both sides of the divide,
there is zero interest in healing on the reich, they are determined to destroy us. It is way past time for us to realize this is a war, and we damned well better start fighting it.

20. When did Obama say he would nuke Pakistan, Truebrit?
Edited on Fri Aug-24-07 12:56 PM by Darth_Ole
In fact, HE'S SAID THE OPPOSITE!!! And it's others who've said no candidate should leave any option off the table... Check out Part 1 of his interview on The Daily Show (specifically around the 5:30 mark): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAvgtdmuYf0

In case you haven't noticed, it's hard to hear a person's tone of voice with written text...

Besides, what nuke thinking are you talking about?

12. Oh sure.
Why get oneself worked up over some words about "unity?" What he seeks is a unity under the leadership of the Democratic Party. What he seeks is to pacify and politically neutralize the right. There's nothing wrong with that.

If I wanted that bullsh*t, I'd be willing to vote for a DLC candidate, and I WON'T.

And, why SHOULD we compromise with them? There is no logical reason.

I'm tired of all the middle-of-the-road, apologist, collusionist CUMBAYA happy-horse-poop doled out by this Party. There is no reason to be carrying a white flag at all.

But then all the Democratic Candidates have something in their message that I can agree on.

I have not found one republican that I can swallow the crap for anything they are saying.

Notice the lack of details as to how he will magically achieve "unity" and reform 200+ years of American politics with a "new kind of politics"? He is guilty of false advertising.

29. I agree with Obama's message.
For over a decade the MSM has created and many politicians have encouraged a BS meme about a supposed division between a "Red" America and a "Blue" America. This supposed "division" is BS. Most American, including people from both sides, agree on a lot more things then they disagree, and most of the things they agree upon are "progressive". Getting out of Iraq, Universal Healthcare, Fair Trade, protecting the middle class from outsourcing, improving our public schools, these are things the majority of Americans agree upon. When Obama talks about Unity, he is not talking about the fake "bipartisanship" of the DLC, he is reminding us that the majority of Americans, despite political affiliation, are progressives de facto when it comes to the issues.

His health care plan. With two elderly parents who have no retirement coming to them, this is a sore spot for me. And, his plan doesn't include seniors, working poor, and/or low income adults.
