Actress, author and activist Victoria Rowell visits Aiken Saturday to drum up support for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.
Rowell, who became a household name through her longtime roles of Drusilla Winters on the CBS daytime drama "The Young and the Restless" and Dr. Bentley on the prime-time mystery series "Diagnosis Murder," will make Clinton campaign appearances in South Carolina all weekend, with other stops in Spartanburg, Anderson and Columbia. The meet-and-greet hosted by Hillary For President, South Carolina, will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Houndslake Country Club off Hitchcock Parkway.
"Aiken is a very important area for the Hillary campaign, as you may know one of our state co-chairs, Councilmember Lessie Price, is from Aiken, and this event Saturday night is an opportunity to energize and organize Hillary's supporters as well as to inform more people about why Hillary has the experience to make her the right choice for president who can lead from her first day in office," said Zac Wright, communications director for Hillary for President, South Carolina.
Rowell published her memoir, "The Women Who Raised Me," in April, detailing her relationships with the parents, teachers, mentors and especially foster parents who shaped her, and has completed a companion documentary called "The Mentor." She is a longtime advocate for children in the foster care system.
