A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
by Greg Palast

It's been two years. And America's media is about to have another tear-gasm over New Orleans. Maybe Anderson Cooper will weep again. The big networks will float into the moldering corpse of the city and give you uplifting stories about rebuilding and hope.

Now, let's cut through the crybaby crap. Here's what happened two years ago -- and what's happening now. This is what an inside source told me. And it makes me sick:

1. I'm still crying in my heart
Next to 9/11 it's the worst failure of our government to it's own people.

Both on Bush's watch at that.

5. True
It's really hard to say one was worse than the other. The deaths from 9/11 still continue but the current administration makes it very difficult and strongly denies rescue and post 9/11 clean-up workers with serious and fatal health problems to claim them as being 9/11 related. Makes them look bad you know.

6. Yeah. Either way the gummint could have prevented both disasters.
The kabosh could have been put on PNAC early on.

4. Who's blaming the disaster?
It's the federal government's (FEMA) response or lack of to it. Two years later nothing much has changed except a select few contractor's bank accounts have grown.
