Implantable Biochip Could Relay Vital Health Information If Soldier Is Wounded In Battle
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/07/070730184829.htm

Science Daily — The Department of Defense has awarded $1.6 million to the Center for Bioelectronics, Biosensors and Biochips (C3B) at Clemson University for the development of an implantable biochip that could relay vital health information if a soldier is wounded in battle or a civilian is hurt in an accident.

The biochip, about the size of a grain of rice, could measure and relay such information as lactate and glucose levels in the event of a major hemorrhage, whether on the battlefield, at home or on the highway.

Anthony Guiseppi-Elie, C3B director and Dow Chemical Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and professor of bioengineering says first responders to the trauma scene could inject the biochip into the wounded victim and gather data almost immediately. The device has other long-term potential applications, such as monitoring astronauts’ vital signs during long-duration space flights and reading blood-sugar levels for diabetics.

1. Don't pay any attention to that camel's head poking into the tent.
Wonder how long before *everyone* is required to submit to implantation.....for our own good, you see.

3. sounds like a great idea
Let's just think of the ways this could be abused.
The first one that comes to my mind is tracking the whereabouts of an individual or group. Oh yes they will start with only implanting these devices in soldiers policemen and astronauts, but you know it will not take long to plant them in anyone convicted of a crime no matter how minor. Then the next step will be anyone detained for any reason, did you say traffic violation?
Soon the whole population will have chips implanted and the "man" will be able to know where you are and what you are doing.

Call me paranoid but look at all that has happened in the last 6 1/2 years?

4. Tracking? Let's just start with automatically being rejected for health insurance...
Of course you don't NEED to have a chip implanted in you. It's YOUR choice.

...but if you want us to stop the bleeding...

5. Just like Chertie's threats to the states to issue biometric IDs or else it won't be honored
outside of the states which refuse to comply. But it's *the state's choice*, whether to comply, you see.

It's blackmail, extortion and racketeering.

That's what our *government* has come to.
