Tell me why I shouldn't register as a Republican on Monday. If
I can't vote for the best Democrat in the primary, I can at least go vote for the worst Repuke.

VOTING IN FLORIDA IS A JOKE ANYWAY.

1. OK, what if we all thought that way?
What if all of the states demanded to be some of the first to vote in the primary?

9. I didn't say I was going to vote Repuke, I just said I was going to
REGISTER Repuke. I would probably write in Mark Foley in the Repuke Presidential primary. If they are going to run an asshole, it may as well be one that's been stretched out a lot.

28. You can't do that in Florida.
A write-in candidate has to file as a write-in candidate during qualifying. Otherwise the vote is tossed out. I guess Mickey Mouse was getting too many votes in the past.

You could however help throw Florida's Repuke delegates to Ron Paul.

DNC to Florida: Settle dispute over timing of primary or lose delegates
Mike Lafferty | Sentinel Staff Writer
1:52 PM EDT, August 25, 2007

The Democratic National Committee decided Saturday to strip Florida of its delegates to the 2008 party convention if the committee and the state can't settle a dispute over the timing of Florida's primary.

The DNC decided to wait 30 days before taking action against the state, giving the two sides time to work out an agreement.

Florida jostles for position in race for the White House
Tamara Lytle | Chief Washington Correspondent
August 24, 2007

WASHINGTON - Florida Democrats have launched a pre-emptive strike at the national party in the showdown over the date of the presidential primary.

Five members of the state's congressional delegation sent a letter to Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean on Wednesday warning they will fight back if the national party punishes the state for moving up its primary to Jan. 29. That's one week ahead of the date both parties have set as the earliest possible vote for Florida and most other states.

<snip>

The race to the front of the line has led to chaos and a compressed primary schedule. National party leaders and political scientists worry that the nominees would be chosen so early that many voters would not have time to become familiar enough with the issues and the candidates.

The DNC quietly offered Florida an alternative -- a caucus after Feb. 5 that the national party would pay for.

15. Thanks for the follow up. Was unaware of that. I suppose a 30 day negotiation may
let cooler heads prevail towards some reasonable solution? Obviously unfamiliar with the local tug-of-war on this, but I see the nationwide issue about the jockeying for dates.

5. If you lived in Texas I would say go ahead and vote for a
Republican because the Democrat candidate does not have a chance anyway. However, you live in Florida where a Democrat does have a chance. See the difference?

16. Be careful with your timing.
Make sure you meet any deadline for party change so that you are not shut out of the primary altogether.

It's a good idea to make sure the most unelectable Republican becomes the candidate.

Figure since the GOP is so hot to square off against HRC in 08, it will be likely to happen A LOT in DEM primaries next year. They want to shove her down our throats and they will do what ever they can to pick our nominee for us.

That he guarantee that the winner of the Florida primary is the only Democratic Presidential candidate that appears on the ballot in Nov '08.

If the right people get together on this, Dean will end up with egg on his face.
