Is it too early yet for the hate to be showing? Or do we really NOT hate any of our candidates? |
|
I remember that back in the '04 primary season it was UGLY around the DU. Now, even though I see some spats between different supporters, there doesn't seem to be the same level of vitriol between the supporters of different candidates. Is it just too early in the game or is this becoming a kinder, gentler DU? Or do we just not dislike anybody running for the Dem nomination that much this time around?
I know that while I have some reservations here and there about ALL the frontrunners, I find that I could support any of them heartily in the GE (some more heartily than others, admittedly). Is that the general feeling around the DU or are people pulling their punches for right now?

1. I've seen Rovian tactics on these boards and it is repulsive. |
|
I am actually feeling an aversion towards the candidates that these hate-spewers support, and that is not the way any of us should want to feel.

that I just haven't clicked on the right threads? Is there the same kind of viciousness going on this time around, too?

4. well, I missed the 2004 election here at DU |
|
But from what I hear, I didn't actually miss anything. Ha, ha.
Obama is being repeatedly backed over by a few people here in the lamest of arguments:
1. Obama opposed the Iraq War, others voted for it, and is argued that Obama's reasoning for opposing the war wasn't pure enough. 2. Obama voted 'no' on Roberts, others voted for him, but it is argued that Obama's reasoning for voting 'no' wasn't pure enough.
etc. You get my drift. This is Rove 101, pure and simple: Attack your opponent's strengths with whatever ammunition you can find even if you have to resort to Drudge or pull it directly out of your arse. It's pathetic.

3. Viciousness? Hate? Strange words to be used. |

No, it's more of a realization. The charade is over. The curtain has been pulled. There's nobody there for we, the people.
