Larry Craig Question
I've been surfing around for more information on the Larry Craig incident and have come up empty. As far as I can tell, he is guilty of tapping his foot in a restroom stall. Regardless of whether or not that is some sort of signal, I'm pretty sure it's not illegal. Therefore, there has to be more to this story than is currently being revealed. Anyone has more info?

2. There is considerable evidence around that had Craig
involved in a perverted sex and drugs billarocky during the '80s which he managed to sweep under the rug. I did some other reading that mentioned his apparently sudden marriage to a staffer after being braced about his sexual identity, the mother of the children mentioned in this article.

He is, from all I can determine, a hypocritical pervert who is likely guilty of a lot of other crap when no one was watching. This is my opinion---I haven't the capability of doing a more thorough search than publicly available sources provide.

Back when, when I was a master auto technician, I would show customers, who were guilty of short-tripping their cars and not changing the oil adequately, the inside of their engines that could be seen under the oil filler cap, the bottom of the cap and the top of the dip stick. The first conclusion they would reach - and I knew this from having had countless such show-smell-and tells - was that the muck only formed where you can see it, not that it was throughout the engine and these were the places you could see it.

The same is true of most republicans and the republican party. They're nasty and dirty through and through, but we think they are not all that dirty, since we see only selected accidental bits. The worst is hidden.

3. He was cruising for gay sex in a bathroom known for it
His misfortune was the cop who was there working under cover to counter cruising.
This is not the first time Craig has cruised for sex in bathroom, but it is his first conviction.
The Idaho Statesman is must read today . . .
http://www.idahostatesman.com/273/story/143801.html

Until Monday, the Statesman had declined to run a story about Craig's sex life, because the paper didn't have enough corroborating evidence and because of the senator's steadfast denial.

In the hourlong May 14 interview, Craig was accompanied by his wife, Suzanne. He specifically and generally denied ever engaging in any homosexual conduct.

During that interview, the Statesman played Craig an audiotape of the man claiming that he and Craig had sex in the Union Station restroom. Like the Minnesota airport restroom, the Union Station restroom is known as a place where men can find anonymous sex.

Craig denied the man's account and said, "I am not gay and I have never been in a restroom in Union Station having sex with anybody.

"There's a very clear bottom line here," Craig said. "I don't do that kind of thing. I am not gay, and I never have been."

Craig's accuser spoke to the Statesman on the condition he not be named. The man said he was sure it was Craig he had oral sex with but said he had no evidence other than his word.

Craig also denied the claims of the two other men that he made sexual advances to them.

One man, who was considering pledging with Craig's fraternity at the U of I in 1967, said Craig took him to his room and made what the man said he took to be an invitation to sex. Responding to that allegation in May, Craig said, "I don't hit on any men."

Another man said that in November 1994 Craig "cruised" him at the REI store in Boise. The man, who is gay, told the Statesman that Craig stared at him in a sexually inviting way and followed him around REI for a half-hour. Said Craig: "Once again, I'm not gay, and I don't cruise, and I don't hit on men. I have no idea how he drew that conclusion. A smile? Here is one thing I do out in public: I make eye contact, I smile at people, they recognize me, they say, ‘Oh, hi, Senator.' Or, ‘Do I know you?'

"I've been in this business 27 years in the public eye here. I don't go around anywhere hitting on men, and by God, if I did, I wouldn't do it in Boise, Idaho! Jiminy!"

4. A variety of non-denials there
I think they should teach journalists and headline writers to know they difference between a denial and a non-denial denial. Here are Craigs' contributions:

Asked about a specific incident he makes a general statement which does not respond to the question:
I don't do that kind of thing -- and I not e the word "don't" which is not the word "didn't"

"I don't hit on any men." -- again this is in present tense and does he hit on specific men?

and
I'm not gay, and I don't cruise, and I don't hit on men.
is he bisexual?

5. A misunderstanding
I happen to know that the Senator is a big TVLand fan and he was desperately trying find other fans to re-enact the opening to a famous Tv show from the 60's.

It's ALL a BIG Misunderstanding.
