Kucinich: 'My wife's 29 — You draw your own conclusions'
CNN: Kucinich: 'My wife's 29 — You draw your own conclusions'

Dennis Kucinich and his wife, Elizabeth.

Cedar Rapids, IOWA (CNN) – At the Livestrong Forum Monday, Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, hit home the message of proper health education and personally shared the benefits he’s experienced since adopting a vegan lifestyle.

“I didn't need as much sleep. I had a lot more energy. I had a lot more clarity. I didn't have the health problems that I had previous to that,” the Ohio congressman said. “And as a result, I had a better quality of life.”

Kucinich added: “People want a president who is healthy because if you’re healthy you can think right.”...

“There is a direct connection not only between diet and health, but diet and the environment, diet and the economy. And so as president I'm going to be singularly positioned to be able to lead that discussion because I take in my own journey toward health based on my dietary choices,” he said.

While describing a diet free of animal products and an improved quality of life, MSNBC Hardball Host, Chris Matthews, ignited laughter when playfully remarking “And you married a young woman.”

Kucinich joked, “And I did. And my – hello. I mean, I'm 60 years old, I have a – my wife's 29. You draw your own conclusions. Diet helps.”

Wow!

Still, I don't think I would marry someone that much older than me, but that's me.

39. It's not being a vegan -- it's the miracle of hair dye.
His skin shows his age. If he had naturally gray hair he would look every bit his age.

What is with that? Hillary is my last choice, but I'll hack off my arm before I either don't vote, or vote Republican, so I guess I support Hillary. Kucinich is my first choice, in spite of his gorgeous tramp of a wife.

and have to worry about getting preggers AGAIN until hubby's clear.

My body, virility and stamina are F.I.N.E. fine.

I'd vote for Kooch over Hillary, who wouldn't throw the cheating lout out. Which is worse? I threw my cheating lout out when I was a stay-at-home Mom with no money or job. If I can land on my own two feet, surely Hillary can.

hit on and propositioned me and offered to be sugar daddies ect... certainly left a negative impression on me to the men that they were. at "over 35" my view has not changed on that male. i am at least consistant. there is something to be said about the male that does not have the need for a woman three decades their junior. and there is something to be said about the male that choses a woman three dacades their junior and then feels the need to brag and boast.

Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 12:21 PM by seabeyond
has issue cause of some "lack", i am assuming. it is called a subthread. and if you are suggesting the boasting is a result of matthews bringing it up with no responsibility on kucinich boasting, then i say weak. even with matthews known piggishness towards females, a man can easily deflect those comments with respect and grace if he so choses. kucinich didnt. he boasts and brags like an immature teenager. that is his. matthew owns his own part, but only his.

I'm glad you love redheads (since I'm auburn, myself), but must women always be reduced to whether someone would "do" her or not?

Just say she's pretty and leave it at that. MMM-kay?

P.S. I realize you're a woman, but I wouldn't let a man get by with saying that, either.

12. I think he's saying he's good in the sack...
and that's alright with me. Limp dicks make the worst Presidents (see: "Shrub"), because they always have to project their lack of phallus with a vengence onto some poor nation. And the shallow part of me has to say that his wife is absolutely gorgeous, but she appears to be the kind of gorgeous that is more than skin deep.

I didn't know that.

His points just went UP, imo.

Though - yea verily - I really love a lot of what he has to say - I - well - I've never considered him a serious contender. Don't hit me! I just haven't. Why is that?

I mean, he has a great message. A good speaker. A great sense of humour. Why is it that I don't see him as "the nominee" or the "Pres"?

Help me out here, folks. I really want to know.

18. I have never understood why Elizabeth Kucinich's youth and beauty
is supposed to serve as any sort of proof of what a great president Dennis would make.

Mind you, I don't say this as a wild supporter of any of his opponents (believe it or not). I do have reservations about him, because I'm old enough to remember when he was mayor of Cleveland, and how his stubbornness at that time, although possibly justified in retrospect, caused the city to become a national laughingstock. I'm not sure that aspect of him has changed enough for him to accomplish anything as a president. (I see him as being kind of an ultra-liberal version of Bush--determined to do what he wants, even if the country goes to hell.) And I'm also not sure the "Congressman Moonbeam" patina he's acquired since those days when he was just a young and stubborn mayor has helped. Principle is good; principle that tilts at windmills, not so sure.

But now he's touting himself as Mr. Health and Vigor at a cancer forum, because he's 60 and has a 29-year-old wife? Not only is it TMI, but I think it's in bad taste. Some people get cancer despite taking every possible precaution about their health, and here's Kooch practically singing "Viva Viagra"? Eww.

I wonder, if he were Fred Thompson bragging about how his lifestyle had helped HIM get a young wife, how many Dems would be saying "Yuck!" "Bad taste!" "A cancer forum is no place for an old man to brag about how much he's getting in the bedroom!"

Just sayin'. I think when it comes to older candidates and young wives, DU has quite the double standard.

with Tweety and Lance Armstrong talking, after his own healthy reform and weight loss, about nutrition and exercise as a cancer preventative -- with Lance Armstrong, who God knows was exercised, sitting as a cancer survivor in front of him.

But doodz bragging about their wives' young age is categorically creepy.

"See that attractive woman there? I service her quite regularly with my penis" is not presidential.
