1. Not at all suprising - its name recognition
Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 05:59 AM by ThomWV
You have to ask yourself, why would someone in Germany, France, or anywhere else know who a would-be candidate like Bill Richardson, or Fred Thompson, or Dennis Kucinich was? Unless the person was a news junkie they wouldn't know any more than most of the folks in the US would have an idea who the candidates might be in a european country. Hell, most folks in this country still think Thacher rules in Jolly-ole-England. The Clinton name was in the European press for over 8 years and Bill was always popular there. Its no wonder they could pick her out of a lineup.

2. Of course. Due to the extreme global popularity of the B*sh regime for

(almost) 6 years, no one outside the US is paying attention to our Election process, especially the Europeans. :eyes:

5. I remember during the Impeachment fiasco,

the US was the laughing stock of the World. Europeans and all other cultures couldn't understand why, when we had such a caring president who brought us Peace and Prosperity, he would be so vociferously attacked by the Republicans who spent millions trying to get him deposed from the presidency.

To digress for a moment, now we know why. The Clinton presidency in 1992 upset their PNAC plans of doing what they planned to do in 1992 waiting until they could by any means in 2000. The War in Iraq, Oil, cleaning out all our Treasuries and Reserves turning our economy on it's ear and destabilizing the Global Economy as it is right now.

So, please tell me what candidate I would want as president that has already picked out Republicans he wants to make nice with in this next presidential cycle.

The only candidate I've seen so far that knows how to work with the vultures without inviting them to live with her IS Sen Hillary Clinton. Is it any wonder, the World at large, sees this and understands she will set herself apart from the reptilians who choose to devour the world in the name of GREED?

Amazing, the short term memory recall of Americans.

6. The Blowhards Who Scream "Anti-Americanism" All The Time
forget that Bill Clinton was massively popular all around the world and the US was beloved. I've been to Europe before and after--the transformation is dramatic. Fortunately, the vast majority of Europeans haven't given up on Americans.

7. So True..
When traveling overseas during the Clinton presidency, we were always well received by people in other countries. They would give us hugs and with wide eyed huge smiles ask: "You know him?" We'd laugh and say: "no, but we like him too." Then we'd hear the neverending praises about him, articles they'd read in their newspaper...etc.. Yep, those were the days when saying you were American meant something..

10. First question, why should we allow foreign countries effect our elections?
Secondly, I noticed that Kucinich and others weren't on that list, so how can you really consider this to be a fair sampling? Given that Kucinich's positions are most in line with European positions, it would seem to be that he would also rate favorable rankings. But hey, we just can't let little things like truth and fairness get in the way of the Hillary uber alles machine:eyes:
