Congress needs to make clear right now that if |
Bush orders acts of war against Iran without getting a declaration of war from Congress, he will be impeached.

7. I wish they had the balls and ovaries to do their job... |
But it's pretty clear they don't ~ if we last through these dark days, the American people will have to vote all the chickenshits out and elect a completely different kind of political animal.

8. how would they do that? |
The War Powers Act allows the president to introduce troops into action without first obtaining a declaration of war, so it wouldn't be an impeachable offense. And do you really think that a majority in Congress would support such a resolution not knowing in advance what may or may not happen.

12. That's why congress needs to make it clear now... |
that Bush better have a damned smoking gun showing without a doubt that Iran is an IMMEDIATE THREAT. Otherwise, action will be in violation of the UN Charter. Action in Iran will NOT be in response to an attack. This has been talked about for a long time. To act without congressional approval in Iran will be clearly unconstitutional.

9. If they won't impeach him for what he's already done, |
what makes you think they'll do it if that happens?
I think their all complicit colluders, and Bush is able to do anything without consequences as long as this Congress is in session.
Period.

13. I don't disagree with that... |
I only said they NEED to do it. I'm not holding my breath. Even if all of congress doesn't do it...SOMEBODY in Congress ought to say that if he does it, that they will introduce the resolution. I don't think the IRAN war would be a very popular one.
