DailyKos is biased against Kucinich |
|
Right now headlining the DailyKos website are the following two articles:
Dodd and Edwards speak out against new funding request
Nuclear Weapons, Nonproliferation, and the 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidates
The second article practically goes out of its way to ignore Kucinich. This blog is clearly promoting Edwards.

2. Well it isn't a news outlet... |
|
It's a site for opinion...
Having said that I do know Kos is not a Kucinich fan, one of the few areas I agree with him on...

3. Maybe that is who mostly post on KOS? And can't they promote anyone they want? |
|
What is your point? I like Dennis and Edwards but if more KOSSACKS like Edwards why is that something to complain about?

6. The word "biased' sounds like a"complaint." "KOS supports Edwards" would |
|
be a heads up or maybe" Little support for Kucinich on KOS". Whatever.

4. It's a group blog in which participants express their own opinions. |
|
There's nothing surreptitious about this. As for Markos Moulitsas personally, he doesn't have some covert bias about Kucinich -- rather, he's said clearly that he considers Kucinich a clown. Since he started and runs DailyKos, he gets to say what he wants on it.

9. There are a few (10-12) people who write all front page posts. |

The "Recommended Diaries" area is selected by the users. When enough users have recommended a diary, it gets to be in the top 8 at the top of the fp (on the side, not in the middle like the other fp posts).

14. DU is not like DailyKos, there is not nearly the bias here. |
|
They also have the Edwards troll police over there.
And articles get bumped up by how many recommend, so Edwards gets that promotion.

18. Any strong criticism of Edwards gets troll rated out of existence |
|
And my complaints on the site about bias have also been troll rated out of existence also. I wonder if I can still post there.

19. no, dailykos has different rules than DU |
|
it does not matter which candidate you attack, if your attack is against the rules, you will get troll rated. The rules here are much more lax. Read the dailykos rules here: http://www.dkosopedia.com/index.php/DailyKos_FAQ

16. There are plenty of non-Edwards people who can troll rate |
|
I haven't bothered to figure out how you get it - you just do if you comment enough and the comments get enough reccomendations - which incidently is a pretty good idea - as it gives troll rating power to those others think sensible. I know it does take that long a period of inactivity to lose it.

17. DKos is a partisan Dem blog, |
|
dedicated to electing Democrats, period. It did pretty well try to boot Cynthia McKinny to the curb in the primaries. Overall, I would say that rocking the boat is the last thing most Kossacks want to do. Many of the posters are self-styled 'progressives' who wouldn't know a progressive position if it landed on the tip of their nose. It does have a 'huge' readership and postership, so you shouldn't be surprised that the center is the position it takes up overall.
