More about Obama's labor record:
Obama has a strong pro-labor voting record. Obama voted against the Central American Free Trade Agreement and has said that NAFTA should be renegotiated. Obama has cosponsored many important bills to help workers, including: an increase in the minimum wage, and the Employee Free Choice Act. He also championed efforts in the Senate to help air traffic controllers engaged in a labor dispute with the Federal Aviation Administration.

2. Nothing better than facts and evidence!
It beats hundreds of millions of dollars Hillary has invested in her.

Well, I guess you Obama fans like facts more than the Hillary fans.........oh dear... that doesn't look good for Hillary.

Oh dear, an African American man against a privileged white woman..........that's a real problem for American iconography! Now, please, let's stick to the issues, OK, Hillary fans?

3. But those facts should also include a time frame
Such a time frame should also include time in state and in federal offices.

4. What do Hillary fans have to do with this?
ZZ is responding to a thread from LBJ Democrat who is an Edwards supporter.

Apparently you're not too keen on facts yourself.

6. Really, you assume too much
Too anxious to bash Clinton when her supporters were not attacking Obama on his labor record. An apology might be nice if you can do it.

15. I didn't want to stir the pot with making it about Senator Clinton
I was disturbed by a thread that is now Googleable (a word I think...) that inferred that Obama "doesn't care about labor". That misnomer needed to be corrected. I would have done the same if someone had said that Hillary Clinton "doesn't care about labor" too.

I'm just trying to set the record straight.

:hi:

12. thank you, z. Anyone thinking Obama is not someone who really cares is blind.
he has a proven track record of always fighting for the people and anyone trying to say no, is just either blind, jealous and dumb.

18. But he hasn't talked enough about trade according to Bloomberg
so that over-rides all those ratings and proves that Obama doesn't care about workers.
Oh, and did I forget to mention that his top economic adviser teaches at the University of Chicago Business School (the same school that Milton Friedman taught at)?
Case closed.
I guess I'm just in a sarcastic mood today.

24. The AFL-CIO is not endorsing anyone for the 2008 primary
There are about 55 membership unions within the AFL-CIO. Each of those will or won't make endorsements. So your assumption that the AFL-CIO gave "the endorsement" is not accurate.

According to The Hill (and many other links available via Google):

A day after two unions announced their presidential endorsements, AFL-CIO leaders said Wednesday their union is still unlikely to throw its support behind a candidate during the primary season.

Under current rules, a candidate would need the support of two-thirds of the union’s membership, making it difficult to see how an endorsement could be offered anytime soon, according to Gerald McEntee, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

However, AFL-CIO President John Sweeney said affiliated unions are free to make endorsements earlier in the process, but he stressed that they should do so only after thoroughly evaluating the views of their members.
