Poll question: Which of the main GOP candidate would be the WORST president and why?
Which of them would certainly do the most damage to our nation?

1. Rudy Giuliani has the fear thing down all to well. If he is elected, everyone will be afraid to
come out of their house.

25. He sure does...
The thought of that power hungry egomaniac anywhere near the White House scares me to death. I have a feeling he'd make Bush look good....

4. Need: All of the Above
I used to like Huckabee as the least worse of the worst, but today, I believe he stated a National Ban on Smoking :silly:

Disclaimer: Yes, I am a smoker by choice.

20. That was really stupid. I am a nonsmoker who hates smelling smoke, but
even I don't think it's the business of the federal government to ban it. That's up to state or local governments to decide. He blew it with that one--he also made some sort of law in Arkansas that required putting kids' Body Mass Indexes on their report cards--WTF? He is a Big Government Nanny Stater, and would make an awful President.

11. Rudi gets my vote.
He's not only wrongly ideologied, but he lacks the experience and has a worrisome temperament for the job. While I'm not a fan of any of the others, each of them really only lacks to of those requirements, rather than all three.

He's a carbon copy of Bush. A lazy idiot with the exact same platform. Thompson = four more years of Bush.

I think the only reason Rudy wants to be President is to get control of the military and start more wars to prove his toughness.

against Muslims. That's why we don't really want a Southern Baptist preacher in the WH. Second choice--Fred Thompson--he's clueless.

edit to add: McCain and Romney would be the lesser of the evils--both are pragmatic and not terribly religious.

23. Any one of them
will be the final nail in the coffin to our constitution, the environment, life as we used to know it, and America as a place anyone in their right mind would want to come to. I have a feeling many, many people will be fleeing (to where?) if any one of them become the next pres.

And I have a sick, horrid feeling that if HRC is our nominee, one of them will be. Clinton hatred among the radical regressives tops anything else you can imagine. We will lose not only the WH but our majorities in Congress. Life here will be unbearable, and it just blows my mind the Clintons don't see this.

I'm not saying I think Hillary would be a bad president. I don't. I'm just saying she won't be. No one should misunderestimate what a lightening rod she is. Many of the radical regressives who are sick of their own party, and would possibly stay home will be pouring out of the woodwork to vote against her.

My dad has long thought the Repub nom will be Huckabee. He's as scary as any of them, maybe even scarier because he has the ability to appear like a pretty decent guy, but he's as fringe regressive as Brownback. With either of them we get a theocracy.

From the Department of ‘No I’m Not Making This Up’...

Dr. Wiley S. Drake, Southern Baptist pastor from California and apparently second in command of the Southern Baptist Convention, has been caught sending out letters to the membership of the entire SBC on church stationary telling them that god wants them to vote for Mike Huckabee.

“Do what God tells you to do,” Drake continued. “I believe God has chosen Mike for such an hour, and I believe of all those running Mike Huckabee will listen to God.” On his radio show, Wiley elaborated on the theme: “Mike Huckabee is a son of God; he loves the Lord, and I believe, no matter what the constituents say or the Party says, he is a man of integrity who fears God, and in the finality of things will say, ‘Okay, God, what do you want me to do?’ And I believe he will listen to God.”

26. Guiliani
He isn't even conservative, he's an authoritarian. Expect more loss of civil liberties and pointless wars under his administration. Being that he is smarter than Bush and more popular among moderate suburbanites expect him to do a lot of harm.

Romney is a power scheming politician but at least has some sense of brain not to do anything too ridiculous. After all, his flip flopping shows he'll be expedient. Thompson's lazy, hands-off approach would be disastrous as Bush but at least it will cause minimal damage compared to Guilani's aggressive nature.
