If Hillary wins the nomination, I think she owes a big thank-you to John Edwards
Aside from the fact that Hillary is running a stellar and nearly flawless campaign, she has had some luck. That luck came when John Edwards decided to remain in the race after Elizabeth's cancer recurrance. Had he dropped out as some media reported him to prior to the announcement, it would have instantly become a two-person race between Hillary and Obama. Edwards splits the anti-Hillary vote with Obama and muddies the waters. As long as both Edwards and Obama remain in the race and run vigorous campaigns, it is to Hillary's advantage. The last thing she wants is a two person race.

6. If he wins Iowa, that would be great for his campaign.
He'd make a great president.

8. Many besides me agree that Edwards has the best chance to win against
any republican. Thom Hartmann and Bill Maher are just two that come to mind. :applause:

10. I'm okay with an Edwards nomination
but I'm sad that the anti-woman and anti-black voters will be deciding who the nominee is.

Lay to, matey. Pure chance is the greater cap'n, all weather aside.

4. I agree Obama and Edwards split the non-Hillary vote.
It's a crying shame, really. This primary could turn out to be one of those elections like the 1992 general where the winner didn't really have a substantial victory. But, hell, a victory is a victory I suppose.

5. Or maybe she owes a thank-you to Obama
It works both ways.

I agree with you that a two-person race would be ideal for defeating Hillary. And that's why I've pledged to vote for Obama if Edwards is no longer viable. I would hope that you'd do the same if the opposite was true.

7. It's still early.
Remember, Bill Clinton was behind in the polls for a long time; at least on in the top two. Edwards could easily pull ahead.

9. You make an interesting observation. Obama & Edwards are strong in their own right.
By the way, did you say "flawless" about Hillary's campaign? I liked that. :hi:

Seriously, John, Barack, Hillary, Dennis and the others all have their own strong points and they are all making each other better candidates.

Our crowd looks sublime compared to theirs.
