Bad Newz Democratz
Open Left has a mailing list for people who want to take action against the Republican wing of the Democratic Party.

I'm in. How about you?

1. Yeah, because the first thing we have to do is pare our voting strength down to 30%
That won't win any elections, but we'll be ideologically pure.

And that's what really counts, right?

3. What profiteth a party...
... if it wins the elections but loses the key votes in Congress (e.g., Iraq War reappropriations, FISA), because of a relatively small number of turncoats?

Activism against Dems who consistently vote against the will of the voters, the party, and the forefathers will strengthen the party.

An awful lot of progressives are trashing the whole party of late, because they don't know where to put their frustrations about disastrous votes like the unconstitutional "Protect America Act." I agree with Congressional candidate Darcy Burner who says what we need are "more and better Democrats."

4. I'm in
Some of them are from conservative districts where their constituents like them just fine, doesn't mean they are right in their votes but it is up to the dems who elected them. But some are from rather progressive districts and they need to see the light or be replaced by someone who is in tune with the people. They have to go, we are going to need all the dem votes even if we win the WH and increase numbers in Congress in '08, these are the congresspeople who will be making deals with the GOP against us, these are the compromisers of progressive values. Even a larger majority will mean nothing if we don't have dem votes.

6. Yup,
And the culprits in question are known as "Bush Dogs" and (often) "Blue Dogs."
