Can Some One Explain The Four State Pledge?
please help me understand this.
The pledge is for the candidates to skip rogue primary states. Perfectly understandable as it helps enforce the DNC rules. But here is what I don't get.

The purpose of the four early states is to help prevent money from being the key deciding factor in our nomination of a candidate. I mean, that's why we don't just have one national primary - that would favor the early front runner, the one who raised the most money and could afford big media campaigns. We want grassroots candidates to have a shot.

BUT - while the four state pledge prevents candidates from campaigning in rogue primary states it does not stop them from raising money in those states.

SO - it is okay to take our money, but not to spend any time with our voters.

And the point of the pledge is supposed to be to take money out of politics?

1. I can try. There is a difference
between the four-state plan and the four-state pledge.

The purpose of the four-state plan is largely to keep the playing field more level for less-funded candidates. It's part of a larger plan, a principle that all of the states agreed to in the primary schedule.

The four-state pledge is a response to the specific situation we're in now, not part of the plan at all. It is an attempt to wrest back control of the primary schedule and to deincentivize other states from leapfrogging. Floridians are free to skip fundraisers or to spend their money on Republican candidates if they prefer to.

2. No, What I Mean Is
why not have the pledge include not fundraising in those rogue primary states, too?

Is it because they recognize that there's a lot of money in Florida? If so, are they saying all these rogue states are good for is money?

Or, is it allowing candidates a back door way to campaign since they can do that at a fundraiser?

3. It's probably because they recognize that there's a lot of money in Florida.
I don't think that's a value judgment ("all the rogue states are good for is money") but the pledge is meant as a motivator for the states to comply with the original schedule. They want FL & MI to change their positions.
