McConnell to Craig: Quit or we will expose you.
I read this article this AM from an Idaho newspaper and this part of it really hit home with me on how desperate the Repigs are over the hits their party is taking. IMO, McConnell basically told Craig that if he did not resign, they would hold public hearings which would be very embarrassing. At least that is how I took this part of the article that I put in bold:

So Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky on Wednesday sent Craig a blunt message that he would face excruciating public hearings into his conduct. (Emphasis added.)

<snip>

On Wednesday, the leadership - including Sens. McConnell, Trent Lott of Mississippi, Jon Kyl of Arizona, John Ensign of Nevada, and others - agreed to strip Craig of his committee posts and call for an enquiry.

When McConnell telephoned Craig with the news, the Idaho senator was said to have expressed some hope of finishing out his term - a plea that met no response.

They wanted Craig to resign and there is no doubt about it. At this time, IMO, the Pubbies cannot take one more scandal that tarnishes their faux family values banner. Which by now, that banner is pretty torn and tattered. Guess that is what happens when a group is nothing but a phony bunch of hypocrites.

1. From a political standpoint, this would be great for us.
On the other hand, for his family's sake I wish that he would quietly resign, and spend some time with them trying to bring some honesty into his life.

3. Do you think he could bring any "honesty to his ...
life by staying home with his "family"??

6. Not really, but maybe he could at least come out to them.
At some point he should accept (embrace!) the fact that he is gay.

Needless to say, I'm not holding my breath.

5. Bunch of phony politically motivated assholes....
...that are running scared for November 2008...and rightfully so.

The used the FAMILY VALUES banner to bash liberals and Dems for years and that they were the party of family...and saints. Make me gag. So..IMO, their lies have come full turn and they are being outed one-by-one.

The big question to me is: WHO IS NEXT?

4. Boy, is that rich or what? Mitch McConnell, pure as the driven snow,
practically a saint, mind you, urging Larry Craig to resign on moral grounds.

The Inquisition lives! We will investigate! We will inquire into sensitive matters! It will be embarrassing! God's will! The Republic is saved, praise the angels!

9. "expressed hope of finishing out his term-a plea that met no response." WTF? Law & order repugs,
who get rid of habeas corpus, support secret prisons and torture around the world, conduct their wars on terror and drugs relentlessly and unendingly, can't tell Larry Craig NO, you're a sick ass and we can't continue with this scandal? :nopity:

So much for the repukes' line: "We're the ones to deal with Al Quaeda and protect America." They can't even protect America from a public bathroom perv.

11. Yes, something having to do with getting kicked out of the Army in
the days before Don't Ask Don't Tell. Come on, Larry Craig--you gonna let Mitchy get away with this? Get some REVENGE!

It should read, if you say one word about me; I will drag you through the mud forcing you and your family to suffer such pain and ridicule, you'll be wishing you were dead.

If Craig was smart, he'd pass the info to someone else letting them expose McConnell for what he is. I would consider that a form of redemption for Craig, cleaning the "rot" out of our Congress. IF he has an integrity left at all. I am thrilled McConnell feels threatened, though!

I read on Raw Story, Specter is poking at Craig..."Why don't you fight the charge?"
