Send your good wishes to Biden as he leaves for Iraq tonite

He's going there to see first hand what is going on - before the WH spin.

From his site:

Sep. 4: Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden departs this evening for a trip to Iraq; it’s his eighth visit there since the war began.

Earlier today, the General Accounting Office presented its official reort on the Iraq War to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on which Sen. Biden serves as Chairman.

Senator Biden has been a consistent critic of President Bush’s “troop surge” strategy, and remarked on Pres. Bush’s comment today that the U.S. could maintain security in Iraq with “fewer troops.”

“If is talking about bringing our troops down to the pre-surge level, to 130,000, that’s not withdrawal. Withdrawal would be getting us out of the middle of that civil war,” Biden said this morning.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee plans to hold a public hearing with General Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker next week on Tuesday, September 11.

PLEASE JOIN US IN WISHING SENATOR BIDEN WELL ON HIS TRIP TO IRAQ BY SENDING A “COMMENT.”

 Hurry back Senator!

2. Going to drink the 'Surge-Aid'?
Hope he doesn't come back aflicted with the same mental disorder that distorts the truth that so many others have been stricken with.

for how long was this trip planned. The timing seems strange. In any case, hope to see him back soon & safe.

12. Of course Bush had to get there first
But then that could just be a coincidence that Bush payed a surprise visit to Iraq right before Biden. Geez, he still thinks those photo-ops work!

14. Bush went there so he could come back and tell us more lies.
Biden went there to find out the truth.

How can anyone question his leadership?
Any one of the other candidates of the Senate or Congress could go---
and Barack is on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with Biden.
You think he would be interested to see what is going on with his own eyes as well
since the SFRC is going to be holding hearings with Petreaus and Corker.
Don't get me started - I have some footage of Barack in one of the earlier hearings:crazy:

Sen. Biden has alot of cred in this area and he will bring back his own report.

13. Eight times the intelligent man will have visited the disaster site which is

the sole work of the much less intelligent man from Crawford.

I want Joe Biden's informed, far-seeing voice to prevail.

I'm tired of these publicity stunts -- these "surprise visits" Bush and Condi and Dick love so much. I'm sick of the cheapness of it, the trickery.

When Joe Biden returns I'll lend my full attention to anything he can tell us about his visit.

16. Hi, pirhana. As for Corker, someone will have to explain to him what

is actually taking place in Iraq, who General Petaeus is, and why they're all meeting up there on this panel-like table.

_______

I agree. It would be footage well worth the watching.

19. He IS clueless, isn't he?
Not to mention an extremely annoying voice competing with Sessions for the "oh, not you again" prize (no, I do nothave anything against southern accents). By the way, Corker, Crocker, confusing at times, except that one has much more of a clue than the other.

17. I'm thinking our troops would do a whole lot better with a visit from Joe Biden
than they ever would with a visit from George W. Bush, Bringer of Rubber Turkeys.
