What to do on 9/11?

With only one week to go, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I should do next Tuesday, September the 11th. I’ve determined that I’m going to support the general strike by not working, and not buying anything that day. I do think however that I’m going to send my kids to school that day, simply because I’m not planning on staying home to watch them. There is a protest planned for the State Capitol, but I’m not inclined to go to that. It’s a long drive, and I’d only be a face in the crowd. I’ve got a better idea how I can make a statement right here in town.

My plan for my personal protest on that day really has two parts - my statement and my message. I intend to make my statement to anyone who sees me that day, and give my message to anyone I can come in contact with.

I intend to make a statement by wearing my halloween costume from last year. It consists of a very sharp dark grey suit, a red tie, and a Darth Vader mask. I am going to spend the day dressed as Darth Cheney. I also intend to make a sign that I can hold which will read, “GENERAL STRIKE” on one side, and - well I haven’t decided what the other side will say yet. I think I can get peoples attention simply by standing on the side of the road like this. People will notice, but doing this really isn’t going to educate anybody.

I intend to keep moving throughout the day, to various places around town. I’m afraid staying too long in one place might cause me problems, and I’ll need some breaks in the car’s AC because I’ll be really hot wearing that suit. Part of my time will be spent making my statement to passing drivers, and the rest will be spent walking various parking lots around town, and spreading my message by passing out fliers. I was contemplating what I could hand out, and decided that I would make them myself. I’m planning on making 500 one-page fliers and doing my best to hand them all out that day. I’m posting below my draft of the text of this flier. I’m posting it here in the hopes that I can get some honest comments and suggestions so I might improve upon it before next week. I’d appreciate any comments with any ideas on this text, or on what my sign should say!

9/11 GENERAL STRIKE! NO WORK – NO SCHOOL – NO SPENDING MONEY

Today is September 11, and across the country millions of people are on strike in protest. This symbolic strike was called for many reasons, many of which are explained here. Please read on.

Recent polls show that less than half of Americans believe the official mainstream account on what happened on September 11, 2001. There is a mountain of evidence, the examination of which leads many to believe that the U.S. government was worse than negligent, it was complicit in the attacks. However whether or not you believe our government had any role, the undisputable fact remains that neo-conservatives used this as justification for implementing their plans for assuring U.S. hegemony into the next century. The invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were just the beginning stages of this plan. The final stage of this diabolical and un-American plan will begin before the end of this year.

The plan has two parts; First to gain control of most of the planet’s most important natural resource, oil. The second part is to purposely bankrupt the United States government, and throw the entire world into financial and economic chaos. Out of the ashes of this chaos, the hope is that with control of the oil, and with the imposition of a new dictatorship that will squelch all dissent, the U.S. will eventually achieve complete domination over the world.

Over the past six years our national debt has gone from being a major problem, to an inevitable disaster. Several trillion dollars in bonds are held by overseas countries and corporations. Once a selloff begins, panic will immediately ensue, and overnight our economy will be flooded with trillions of dollars. This is when hyperinflation will begin. Once this happens your dollars will quickly become worthless. The government will be able to pay off its debts with worthless money. The plan is to then introduce a new currency to stabilize and unite North America, the Amero. These Ameros are already in the process of being minted in various places around the country, under the utmost secrecy.

Presently the propaganda is ramping up support for a new war against Iran. The purpose of this, like Iraq, is to secure the oil. Understand that the war in Iraq was won in a few weeks, but chaos was deliberately encouraged to manufacture a reason for our troops to remain. Iraq was hit because of its weakness, not because it was any threat. They believe they can do the same to Iran. Once this begins, China will undoubtedly retaliate by dumping their bonds, and the crash will begin. This will be the end the proud history of our nation, and the beginning of a new fascist, one world order. Today’s strike is a symbolic stand against all of these things. Join us in opposing those who would destroy our great country.

the chaplain of the NY Fire Department. He was the very first death certificate issued. He died while giving last rites to a stricken fire fighter and he's my hero. Last year, I was present while a friar gave a prayer service at the grave.
