1. I agree but it seems disingenuous to keep asking Bill to define Hillary.
As if his being an ex-president isn't to make him a "super surrogate" He releases a book timed with the campaign! What a coincidence. And the points he mentioned sounded very mush like H W Bush"s "1000 points of light" private sector charity! The ideas in the book will undoubtedly be considered those that his spouse can endorse! I think Lauer addressing the "likability factor" with Bill was ludicrous. What is Bill expected to say" my wife isn't likable" ? Bill's answer was equally ludicrous.I am getting really tired of Hillary's personality being blamed on the RW spin machine. Many of us have heard her speak and met her and are not members of the RW and do not like her.Hillary has many good qualities but "charm" isn't one of them.

8.  That is your opinion, Most Americans,as cited by Lauer, disagree.
and Clinton's answer wasn't good enough because you cannot force likability. It is there or it isn't.No one should know better than Bill.Charisma can't be taught.

9. The poll cited by Lauer was only from one state, not of all Americans, IIRC.
And of course you can't force likability, but if your perception of a person is based on a false caricature, then coming to understand the real person behind the caricature can help increase likability.

10. Unfortunately Hillarys unfavorables may be locked in stone. She actually
does not have an appealing personality.Sometimes she is better than at others but she doesn't have the "it" factor. It may have been one state but Iowa has been given a lot of opportunity to get to know her and they don't "like" her after repeated exposture. This does not bode well for a general election.

11. I think she has an appealing personality.
 It's totally an opinion thing, and perception is going to differ from person to person.

I don't know whether or not her likability ranking is locked in stone, but even if she can't improve them, it all comes down to whether or not voters want someone they can trust or someone they like.

12. That is very true Elizabeth but that is also why I can't support her.I am one who doesn't trust her.

2. You're right, it was a fantastic interview. Sorry it couldn't be on prime time.

As a Dem, I have a real problem. There is something great about each of our candidates and I don't mean just the top tier. Everytime I see Wes Clark with Keith, I think, how can this brilliant man not be taken more seriously, or Kucinich, smart an likable.

I digress however. When Hillary's name first came up as a potential candidate I just sort of laughed it off and thought, no way is that going to happen. This is why I am so glad that the campaign has gotten an unusually early start. I've come to know her a little better each time I listen to her and I really like what I hear. The turning point for me re Hillary is her "backup." Granted, she is a brilliant woman, has paid her dues as they say and is loaded with experience. Having said that, her "backup" is Bill and I liked the way Lauer referred to him as Mr. President, good on him for that).

The time has come to end ineptness and incompetence. Our nation can no longer tolerate a "frat boy" mentality. We need smart, savvy, likable, globally known and astute people. I think the new resident(s) of the WH will require all of the above, and for one person to be expected to achieve all of the work facing them is daunting. Hillary has much to offer, her "backup" is the guarantee that this would be a dynamic duo who could put a dent into the obstacles facing a new President.

7. I will never vote for a "backup". You imply the candidate is not "good
enough" on her own. That is like voting for a candidate because you like their VP.That never happens.
