I know you can do less hamfisted propaganda than this. Obama is a candidate of charm, wit, and balance. I wish more of his supporters would emulate those qualities.

And Obama had many years of local organizing experience in addition, in local communities, that Bill didn't have.

Seriously, please explain the problem with comparing the two??

I'd put 2 years as AG against the 4 years of (snicker, snicker)community organizer any time of the week. Project vote?

And being a governor out shines anything else he has done, because with governor you are actually running something (well, except for Texas), Obama was just part of the team, not team leader.

Texas cedes most power to its legislature while a state like NJ has a strong governor system.

He was also involved in the McGovern campaign (campaign coordinator in TX & AR) and voter registration drives for the DNC.

And contrary to your prior assertion that Clinton ran unopposed for AG while he did not have a GOP opponent, there was a primary.

Obama did things while he was in college too. I guess I could go add that. I'm talking of being the key person responsible for getting the job done, over a period of years. That's a little more than organizing peace marches.

59. OK
"I'm talking of being the key person responsible for getting the job done, over a period of years."

I am certainly aware of Obama's voter registration drive in 92 and the his efforts with housing project residents to get their complaints addresses.

As far as I know while Obama was of great assistance in those organizing efforts he did not led them in the traditional sense. Even his campaign makes a point of stating so.

Obama has a good record and quite a few interesting qualifications for the job.

So this begs the question why you feel the need to put down what Bill Clinton did as a means of making Obama look better. Especially when you get the facts wrong in the 1st place.

Grow some balls and guts up for your candidate. We're running against BILL, whether you realize it yet or not.

On edit:

You know, the reason he did NAFTA so well is because he turned Arkansas into the way station. Jobs went from Michigan to Arkansas to Mexico to China. That's Clinton's experience.

I hope you do not go out and work for Obama... he would be better off without you... the person who called my house for Obama didn't do any better... if this is "change" and "fresh" I will stick with "real" experience...

Bush has lowered the expectations of what a president's qualifications should be... we as democrats need to bring back the dignity of the office and restore the respect of the world....

touting Obama as a state legislator... OMG it is a part time job! you qualify for food stamps on that salary...

he'll be ready in 2016 after Hillary has served her two terms... he can then talk about real experience...

I can accept Obama as a fine man and a fine Politian but comparing Obama to Bill is "SILLY"... give it up!!!

Since when have poor people succeeded at anything?
So why should the president be nominated based on

America poor are still a minority.

It's a hard, thankless job that requires good leadership skills to be effective. He chose that job, and stuck with it for a good long while just so he could help poor people. It's one of the reasons I'm so comfortable supporting him.

14. Read up on his positions and his plans.
He's not at all naive. He's realistic and doesn't expect everyone to agree with all of his positions, because he's not out to please everyone. He knows it can't be done.
I'm a volunteer at his headquarters here in NH and no one there is even allowed to badmouth another candidate. When we call people to ask who they're supporting in the primaries, we don't count votes on "I'm leaning toward Obama" or "I really like Obama".... Unless someone says "I'm committed to Obama and I'm definitely voting for him", we don't count them as supporters. I've never seen so much goodwill and honesty in a political campaign.

Barack Obama is the man.

Afterall, that would mean the repuke could run Laura or Nancy Reagan for pres under great experience. same with rosalyn carter. And we all know they would be laughed at but, Hillary's time is taken seriously by the media and touted as great experience.

38. Oh my my....As former president bush
Edited on Thu Sep-06-07 11:34 AM by BenDavid
said when invited back to the White House after President Clinton had spoke, " I can see now why I lost the election". Bush was not speaking about how handsome Clinton was, or how well dressed he looked, NO! It was Clinton's vast knowledge of any subject matter presented to him. Obama does not have this attribute and it comes across in his answers during debates, and one on one discussions. This time America (I hope ) will not fall like they did in 2000 by saying bush does not have to be the smartest man in the room. Well, for 7 years now we see what not being knowledgeable got us. There are many candidates running on the dem side that has this knowledge and I am afraid Obama does not. Oh sure he can give one hell of a speech and hit the mark just fine when he needs to draw out an emotional response from a crowd, but Americans are this time looking for experience, knowledge and that will be what propels the next person into the Oval Office...Myself, I say HRC....And it will not be someone that you would like to have a beer with or a slice of pizza....
We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you, Barack Obama is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it.(bill and hillary clinton: "divisive politics" that had demoralized the country even before President Bush took office.) You gather a group of middle-aged, middle-class, middle-income voters who remember with longing an easier time, and you talk to them about family and American values and character and try to bring down your opponent by charging her with being devisive, and saying this campaign for her is just a game:" that for others, politics seemed to be a game."9-3-07.
People are seeing through Obama and know he is all hat and no cattle.....We do not need a show horse we need a Thoroughbred. One which can sprint to the finish line in the democratic primaries and win and someone which can go the distance and win the presidency. That one person is HRC.

I do thank you
Ben David
