How do you feel about unions endorsing Edwards? Of the leading candidates I think that Edwards seems to be the most concerned about labor and the middle class. Admittedly, I don't know what Kucinich's labor positions are so he might be more left and I plan on investigating his records and statements.

Personally, while I think the war is a huge issue that needs to be resolved and, of course, we NEED a Democrat in the White House but I think labor, access to health care and poverty issues are the key elements for me in this next election.

I'm curious to know, do you have one particular issue or set of issues that are most important to you?

1. I'm glad to see unions endorsing a candidate
who isn't necessarily the front runner. It's time for them to retake the role as kingmaker, instead of coming begging to the one they think will win and hoping that candidate will do what they want.

Edwards clearly gets it. It makes sense for unions to endorse him.

The carpenters' endorsement is huge. McCarron is an opportunistic scum who made nice with Bush.

2. When I see things like the subway strike in London
I have to ask myself why we're so complacent. What's happened to our fight? When did we roll over and play dead and let ourselves be oppressed by business. Why did we let the notion of unions become a bad thing?

I agree that it's good to see a non-front runner get endorsements. I'm sick of everyone following the path of least resistance.

3. I'm loving it, since reagun screwed the air traffic controllers, everyone
things this country can run without unions, but when you remind them of what unions have done for us they get that kinda glazed look.
