THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

A new poll contains a lot of numbers for Ohio Democrats to like.

Their party's candidates are winning 11 of 12 prospective presidential matchups in this key battleground state. Hillary Rodham Clinton has opened up her biggest lead yet, as the New York senator's favorability rating tops 50 percent for the first time.

And while former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards is running only No. 3 among Democratic voters, he rolls up the largest margins versus the GOP field.

1. Its official? Republicans are no longer counting the votes?
Surely blackwell is hanging out in the shadows somewhere.

3. No disagreement there
the story is about recent polls in OH.

I found it interesting that Edwards holds the largest margins against any pug candidate.

2. Ohio "went Democratic" in 2000 and 2004.
But - as always - what matters isn't who casts the votes, but who counts them.

4. It did not go Democratic in 2000
Gore lost by 160,000 votes. He pulled his ads off the air in early October and stopped visiting the state.
