I'm sure Michelle Obama means well but........
the time has come for her to immediately stop talking about the family's private life in such an open manner. I know many, including her, think she's being cute, girlfriendly and down to earth. She's not. I don't care what any of the candidates look like, smell like, etc. early in the morn. I've had two husbands and raised two sons, it ain't pretty.

The reason I bring this up is that I participate in another message board w/bellsouth. Very Right, White, and southern if you get my drift. The consensus of opinion over there is: "Obama needs no enemies, he's got his wife to do it for him." I've seen it a lot, it bothers me. I really like Obama, he's very, very important in this race and for his race and everyone else. Statements like the ones she has been making would be acceptable probably amongst close girlfriends. I know she means well, she's bright, charming and an asset to his campaign. But HE is the star Michelle, you're the one that helps him to maintain that status. I love that old saying of my youth, "some times it's better to be seen and not heard."

7. She should have said that he is a great guy - great father, very
committed to his beliefs. A model citizen. The greatest guy in the world.

She may be our First Lady, and should be acting as a professional - not like your best buddy.

makeup and sex.

Today everyone is talking about Obama snores and stinks. The msm loves it.

I can imagine the conversation at Oprah's this weekend after everyone has a few drinks:rofl:

21. You do remember this Biden statement, don't you?
Speaking to a group of 130 twenty- and thirty-something supporters of his leadership PAC last Thursday, Biden indicated that while he thinks he could be an effective chief executive, as far as the job itself goes, he could take it or leave it.

“I’d rather be at home making love to my wife while my children are asleep,” he said.

23. Well - we know Biden is one happy man.
Funny you brought that up - I just posted that link at another site where we were talking
about TMI.... He did say that before he announced (I noticed how you didn't put the date on there), but he shouldn't have said it.

Wanna slam Biden? Here, I'll do it for you.
Michelle said that about Barack just to prove Biden wrong. Afterall, Biden called him 'clean'. hahaha.

28. I posted this in an earlier "outraged about Michelle" thread:
So, the moral of this story is that the media world is very different from when Mamie Eisenhower was on the TV with Edward R. Murrow.

http://www.esquire.com/features/edwardsgothic0807-2

"I hope this isn't too personal," I said to Edwards, "but I was reading about how Elizabeth discovered her cancer this second go-around. It was a broken rib, correct?"

"Yes," Edwards said.

"The papers said you were hugging her -- which is always nice to hear, a married guy hugging his wife. It must have been bizarre. What happened, you just hugged her and heard a snap?"

"Maybe it is a little personal," Edwards said, laughing self-consciously.

"Maybe I don't want to know?"

"It was a perfectly reasonable question," he said, bailing me out.

"So hugging was perhaps a euphemism?"

"That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it," he said, raking his forelock with his fingers.

8. As a potential First Lady, do you recall Lady Bird, Jackie, or Mamie discussing
thse type things? I think not, Glamour or not. It's a publication, for all to read. She needs to class up a little, don't you think?

11. What type of things? It's a sin to be human in the morning? "Snory and
stinky" are the perceptions of her little girls — when they get a bit older, they won't think boys are stinky any more.

As for those first ladies, the press was quite a bit different back in those days. They wouldn't have printed any of those type of things. LBJ was, personally, a rather classless and mean SOB.

15. I could've gone my whole life not thinking about what Obama
smells like in the morning. I really would have preferred it. See, now I have to think about what giuliani smells like. Well, he may smell like perfume if it was after one of his drag nights. The real nightmare I can't let go of now, is what do you suppose old ass Freddy smells like? See, this is a slippery slope we don't need.

10. "Very Right, White, and southern if you get my drift"
No. Could you please be more specific?

Please keep in mind that that particular quote was not what Mrs Obama set out to focus on. It was a silly aside. She wasn't talking about her husband's stinky feet even in that paragraph where the quote comes from; she was talking about her relationship with her daughters--turning on the Jackie O, as it were.

It's a sad comment on society, but people really do give a shit about candidates' family lives. Personally, I only care about Rudy Giuliani's. For all their divorces, McCain, Thompson, & even Gingrich seem to have their shit together on the homefront and none of it is worth considering. But cuddling in bed with her kids humanizes Mrs Obama and some voters actually care about that crap.

30. I heard a very astute comment today on WCKG Chicago wherein someone
noted that she is not a really experienced campaigner and not used to the idea that as idiotic as it seems you just have to recite the same old crap over and over to reporters and interviewers.

As boring and mind numbing as it is - its what the pro's do. Michelle probably fell into the trap of feeling she has to say something fresh and original or funny every now and then but its the worst thing you can do.

You have a script and you read from the script and don't deviate.

Its sad but its the way you have to deal with the sharks in the media nowadays.

Give me a break. He is running a campaign base on change therefore Michelle will not be the typical first lady and will probably not speak like one. At least she didn't make a comment that she isn't like Tammy Wynette, baking cookies and standing by her man.

I think your web group would have had a field day with that one, but Michelle is too intelligent and savvy to make a mistake like that. But I'm sure the Billary supporters will definitely make a mountain out of this molehill.
