Tim Weiner and "Legacy of Ashes"
I was just listening to one of Ian Master's old shows with Tim Weiner, author of "Legacy of Ashes", and was stunned by some of the things that Mr. Weiner said. He stated that no serious weapons inspections were conducted in Iraq after 1998. He also claimed that, in essence, that the CIA told Bush that Iraq had WMDs - no mention of the fact that Bush et al pressured the CIA or (as Sidney Blumenthal has recently written) that CIA officers told Bush that there were no WMDs and he ignored that information - implying that it was the CIA's fault that we went to war. Has anybody read this book and if so, is that what he claims?
