So-Called Liberal Media is at it Again
http://www.progressivedailybeacon.com/more.php?page=opinion&id=1668

A. Alexander, September 8th, 2007
That so-called liberal media is at it again. Ever notice how, when a Republican gets into trouble, the corporate-owned media almost always avoids using the word ... ah ... um ... "Republican" in their reporting?

When Republicans molest House pages, it is "a congressman." When Republicans are busted taking bribes from defense contractors, it is "representative." When a Republican's home is raided by the FBI, it is the "Senator from Alaska." When a Republican's name is found on a DC prostitute's phone list and another prostitute in Louisiana identifies the same guy as being one of her customers, it is "Mister Vitter." When a Republican is caught tapping for a BJ in a busy airport bathroom, it is "Larry Craig, Idaho Senator." It is true ... the corporate-owned media, that supposedly "liberal media," refuses to use the word "Republican" in their criminal reporting.

1. I also noticed that - and how different it is for a Democrat or a religious leader - I guess
we expect a GOPer to be a criminal/sinner, but a Democrat or religious person criminal/sinner is someone who tells you how to act and then does the opposite - at least that is how it has been explained to me.

Given the GOP says they are the "values" party - the explanation sounds weak.

2. I noticed the Larry Craig's problems were due to a "scandal"
scan·dal (skndl)
n.
1. A publicized incident that brings about disgrace or offends the moral sensibilities of society: a drug scandal that forced the mayor's resignation.
2. A person, thing, or circumstance that causes or ought to cause disgrace or outrage: a politician whose dishonesty is a scandal; considered the housing shortage a scandal.
3. Damage to reputation or character caused by public disclosure of immoral or grossly improper behavior; disgrace.
4. Talk that is damaging to one's character; malicious gossip.

As seen in these headlines: Larry Craig "scandal"

Scandal? As in "Damage to reputation or character caused by public disclosure of immoral or grossly improper behavior" or "Talk that is damaging to one's character" or "malicious gossip?"

How about "Sen. Craig committed a crime...? or "Sen. Craig's criminal behavior...?"

He ****ing broke the law, was arrested, and plead "guilty!" "Scandal" is too polite a word to describe his situation.

The Corporate Media has given Craig "wiggle room" by using "scandal," which suggests the degree of his malfeasance is subject to interpretation.

3. Or...
If it happens to be Faux News doing the reporting they mislabel the offender with a (D).

4. Add quickly reported GOP convictions, but video of a Dem INDICTED.
And when that Dem is found not-guilty. Quick story. No pictures needed.

Lots of swing voters don't even know GOP is the Republican party.

5. Or they "mistakenly" label the Republican offender a Democrat
like Fox News did several times during the Foley scandal.
