Edited on Tue Feb-17-04 08:55 PM by Skinner
This is the official thread for Kerry supporters and well-wishers to discuss his performance in the Wisconsin primary, free of disruption.

If you are not a Kerry supporter or a well-wisher, please do not post in this thread. The purpose of this thread is for disruption-free discussion among Kerry supporters. Any negative posts by opponents will be deleted by the moderators. We will open up separate threads where supporters of the other candidates can interact without disruption from opponents.

3. Yes, they make crowns out of cheese.
I hope they give him one tonight. :)

Thanks to the fellow Kerry folks out on the ground in the cold doing the dirty work for those of us who can't. :)

Thanks to the Dean, Edwards, DK and Sharpton folks for making my home state that isn't always important, important again. Stick with your guys as long as you can - you and they and the party have earned the honor.

54. I certainly hope so. If Edwards wins he should be congratulated.
I've seen a few comments about the results being skewed because much of the Independent and Republican vote is going to Edwards. Some are inclined to say that Republican's are trying to slow Kerry down and stretch his resources by doing this.

I disagree. Republicans are angry with Bush. Many job losses in WI. I'm inclined to believe the Republican support for Edwards is genuine.

I hope Kerry runs away with it
If anyone should have had a great nite in addition to Kerry it was Clark. He was polling ahead of Edwards. Clark should have stayed in one more week and put WI away for Kerry if he was going to drop out. I wonder how many WI voters voted for Clark because they thought that Kerry had it wrapped up?

Warning: put on your tinfoils...

According to the state stats on CNN: "10 electoral votes
Estimated voting age population of 4,060,973 in 2002 -- voters do not register by party"

Does that mean republicans are voting in WI for the guy THEY want to run against Bush?????

60. Supposedly we win...
...This is actually very good. I strongly hope for Kerry to come out of this the winner, but a good, close contest could be really good for Kerry and us Democrats. It'll prolong the race, and it'll force him to be a better candidate. And if he loses, well, there are FAR worse fates than being stuck with Edwards :)... I actually REALLY like Edwards, and would be totally cool w/ him as either running mate OR as the nominee.

A longer primary which Kerry wins is ideal. Lots of airtime, lotsa drama, and a Kerry victory.

92. Milwaukee Journal unofficially expects
40 Percent Kerry, 36 percent Edwards.

Edwards is now at 35.5 percent, but they are rounding upwards Kerry is at 39.9.

Thank you Wisconsin!

I think a close finish is a good thing. I also think keeping Edwards in the race for a few weeks more is a very good thing. It'll keep the media interested and keep the Dems in the news.

But it's another Kerry win and it's oh so sweet!

93. Yup
Kerry is going into the Super Tuesday States with very large leads, particularly in New York and California.

Well Kerry did it again, and ttonight should push his delegate numbers up over 600. and bring Edwards just about even with Dean

94. Congratulations to all Kerry supporters .
We are getting closer. Kerry/Clark/04.

To keep Edwards back in that rear view mirror I think Kerry is going to have to go after him on lack of experience etc. And that would kind of take him out of contention for VP I would think. You can't say someone doesn't have the experience to be President and then ask him to be your VP. Soooooooooooooooo.

I think it is looking better for my dream ticket. KERRY/CLARK.
Wahoooo !.

100. Dean to endorse Edwards?
This could change everything.

The former Vermont governor sought out rival John Edwards for a private meeting in Milwaukee Sunday night. After what Democratic sources described as a friendly but inconclusive conversation, Dean said the two men should talk again Wednesday. The implication was that there could be ways for Dean to help a candidate he has said he prefers over Sen. John F. Kerry (Mass.).

107. Congratulations to Kerry and his supporters
especially to all of my Wes Clark Democrat friends. Kerry should count himself lucky to have such a great and passionate group of new supporters.

I wish Kerry the best of luck in this, but the nail biting closeness of this race has only reconfirmed to me the wisdom of my own decision to remain unaffiliated until the nomination has been wrapped up.
