DEAN supporters and well-wishers only
This is the official thread for Dean supporters and well-wishers to discuss his performance in the Wisconsin primary, free of disruption.

If you are not a Dean supporter or a well-wisher, please do not post in this thread. The purpose of this thread is for disruption-free discussion among Dean supporters. Any negative posts by opponents will be deleted by the moderators. We will open up separate threads where supporters of the other candidates can interact without disruption from opponents.

1. Hello. I sure am happy to be with y'all tonight.
I hope things go well.

In any case, let's hope for a squeaker to keep the race alive.

I'm crossing my fingers tonight just for Dean. He has heart and courage and imbued all the candidates with these things during this hard fought race. It was, and still is, exciting to watch him and his supporters. I hope no matter how the primary goes down tonight, that Dean will stay in to the very end for all our sakes. We all need to know that we make a difference and that our contribution is needed by the party.

I admire very much your loyalty to your candidate.

98. I wish he could give backbones to the public as a whole!
Not just the Democratic party leaders..What is it with this wussy public? Scared away because he can yell at a pep rally? Jeesh, better than the cheerleader-in-resident..

If we can figure out why the American public seems so willing to be told what to think by the press, maybe we can have a real-person for a president again someday.

I love DK like a brother or like Frodo -- hence the avatar -- but Dean would make an absolutely great -- and electable -- president were it not for the media whores standing in his way.

I just don't trust Kerry & it will be MOTS. We need a leader for the country AND for the party, and Dean should be it.

Twice at least Wolf Blitzer has said "Dean is a distant, distant third." When he said that, I thought, 'shit, Dean's in the single digits.' But Faux has him about 15 points behind Edwards, with about 18%.

So he's still getting delegates out of this. Settle down, Wolfie.

I will stick with Howard to the end. I know we are all trying to avoid tv tonight but in case anyone is interested. All the candidates will be on Larry King (CNN) at 9:00 central. I can't resist watching Howard. I wish the others would shut the hell up asking the "embed" and Joe Trippi "What will Howard Dean do now that he can't possible go on" BASTARDS!

PRICELESS> Chris Matthews is interviewing John Edwards and asked him if it was down to "nut cutting" time. ROFLOL Edwards just laughed and Matthews busted a gut and tried to back track.

52. Guys, as an ex-Clark supporter, and an ex-Graham supporter, ....
I've seen some very bad nights in the last six months. We're all going to have more bad nights in the months to come. You just learn to live through them because thats part of politics. You lose many more than you win.

Hell, I'm still bitching that Mo Udall lost the Democratic nomination to Jimmy Carter in 1976. Some hurts/losses you don't forget; but you do learn to live with them because you must. Just remember to try to keep your eyes on the prize.

I was just trying to figure out how many more times he could run if this go round doesn't work out for him. I think if America dosn't accept him now, in a few years they will be ready for him.

Dean's always been my second fave behind Kucinich - I will be sad if Dean drops out - and whatever happens, he brought needed perspective to this race. My Kucinich and also Sharpton have done their job, but it's Dean who had enough influence to make the other main candidates talk like the Democrats they are.

76. Whatever happens
Dean has my undying loyalty and respect. I will always believe he made this campain about the issues we all really care about: health care, responsible fiscal policy, responsible foreign policy. Dean's ideas truly resonate with me more than any politician I have ever known. Whether he stays in this race or not, I hope to seem him in the public life in this country for a long time to come. He is a refreshing breath of air in a stagnant cesspool.

thanks in large part to Dr. Dean.

I've had my differences for the "Nobody But Dean" crowd but one thing is certain: Howard Dean has done a ton to help the Democratic Party find its voive again.

96. Hear, hear!!
Too many people jumping on the Kerry bandwagon, too afraid to not be riding the "winning horse."
Pitiful.

Dean stands up for what I believe in.

And he has my support for as long as he is soliciting it.

Failing that, Edwards was my original candidate of choice, until Dean caught my attention, so his showing in Wisconsin in somewhat heartening.

I'm sorry folks, but I can't stomach Kerry...which will be MOTS....

87. Listening to him on CSPAN now...
... He mentioned freedom from indefinite detention as an important right...

THAT is why he is my choice. He did not bring up the warm and fuzzy issue. He brought up the tough and controversial one.

99. Corporate America doesn't want BALANCE.
Dean is balanced. He's "nobody's boy" but his own, and that's a good thing. Kerry may have voted mostly liberal over the years, but when the corporate chips are down, I think he knows "where the money is", and will cave in to pressure despite the will of the people. Dean would stand in our corner if we-the-people really care about an issue.

I'm feeling pretty angry about this. This election is more of the same warfare by corporations on the American people. And it's not like Dean is some radical!!

It's just so infuriating that the media moguls and backroom deals are probably deciding this.

100. FTW: Dean poses threat to the establishment ..not sufficiently harnessed
On the Kucinich thread, someone posted this link: http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/102003_beyond_bush_2.html

FTW's comment on Dean is that "He poses a threat to the establishment because he is an outsider who hasn't been sufficiently harnessed to know what directions he would or would not take if elected."

Ironically, it's a catch-22. While speaking out truthfully on some of the big issues like military interventions, Israel, free trade agreements etc helps build the support of many activists, and helps educate the public, it is also puts a guy in the crosshairs of the elites to do so.
