2. THAT is what I mean by "electability."
And if Democrats care about this, over time, they will start switching their votes to him because it is strength of his.

5. I agree.
Edwards is electrifying to the independents.

Moderate voters, with their dissatisfaction w/ *, could swing the power of the nation back to the Democratic party. This includes both legislative houses, which are almost as vital as the Presidency.

7. Very Interesting Results, Mr. Locke
There was some talk around here yesterday that Sen. Edwards could do nothing much outside the South, and this would seem to knock that into a cocked hat. The ability to draw votes from Independents, and even Republican, in a state with such broadly typical demographics as Wisconsin, is of great value. There is no reason to suppose those persons who entered the Democratic primary there are not contemplating casting their votes for a Democrat come the fall, and every reason to suppose they would vote then for Sen. Edwards.

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

8. Great results!
A candidate with such broad appeal is the man on a white horse to lead us to victory in November!

9. Clark was leading Edwards in the polls
he should have stayed in because the broad support that Clark brought with him were independent and swing voters. I remember when Clark was called a Repuke here when Clark supporters brought up the issue of the GE as it pertained to the independent and swing vote. Remember we don't want Repuke lite? Remember that? Clark would have been kicking but here in WI. Too bad.

10. The exit poll shows Edwards is strong with Independents and Republicans
This is what is needed to win in Nov.:

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/primaries/pages/epolls/WI/index.html
Party-----------Cl---De---Ed---Ke
Democrat (62%) 1% 16% 32% 47% 2% 1% 0%
Republican (10%) 1% 23% 45% 18% 2% 2% 2%
Independent (29%) 2% 19% 41% 27% 5% 2% 1%

Edwards is beating Kerry 45 to 18 among Republicans
and 41 to 27 among Independents
