nore recommendation in March 2008.

6. The initial draw down in the Spring of '08 has been predicted for nearly six months.
We will reduce numbers in 2008, but we will not get to zero troops for several years.

The Dems need to get vocal NOW to 1) stand behind the military forces without conditions; 2) continue to openly and loudly tell Bush to reduce troop numbers in a reasonable fashion; 3) fund the military in Iraq but don't allow expansion; 4) take credit for every successful action that Bush takes in Iraq.

Point 4 is crucial. The Dems are in control of Congress -- without their support, Bush can't have his little Pyrrhic victories. We support the troops unconditionally, so their successes are our successes. Do NOT let the right somehow co-opt any military gains as their gains; they pulled that bullshit after Afghanistan, and we cannot let them do it here.

7. The Dems Vocalizing.....
1. they've been standing behind the military forces since the beginning of this occupation and they will have to continue this support - this is without question
2. they've been openly and loudly telling * to reduce troop levels - but now as it begins to actually happen *Co will openly and loudly tell us that it is because of their brilliant decision to initiate the 'surge'
3. they'll have to continue to fund the military - however - the focus will be on needing to funding to make sure the draw-down will go smoothly and any expansion funds for safety in the draw-down and will be used to counteract Iran's interference during the process
4. the Dems will attempt to take credit - but will be outsmarted in the media by the *Co MSM right wing talking heads and support

By the time we reach the Nov '08 elections - the media will be talking about *'s resolve, his stubborness concede defeat; and his decisiveness during this whole process. As an added bonus look for OBL to be killed and handed to the American people as completing *'s committment as he stood on the pile of rubble of the WTC after 911 - saying we will get these people.

Look for the OBL thing to happen pretty close to the anniversary of 911 in '08.

9. Agree/disagree
1. they've been standing behind the military forces since the beginning of this occupation and they will have to continue this support - this is without question
This is very much in doubt in the eyes of the general population. We are losing this aspect of the PR war, and it should change.

2. they've been openly and loudly telling * to reduce troop levels - but now as it begins to actually happen *Co will openly and loudly tell us that it is because of their brilliant decision to initiate the 'surge'
Damn right he will! And we cannot let him get away with it. We should pre-empt this rather than wait for him.

3. they'll have to continue to fund the military - however - the focus will be on needing to funding to make sure the draw-down will go smoothly and any expansion funds for safety in the draw-down and will be used to counteract Iran's interference during the process
We agree again.

4. the Dems will attempt to take credit - but will be outsmarted in the media by the *Co MSM right wing talking heads and support
It will happen if we let it happen. Moving early, decisively, and loudly is mandatory.

As for the October surprise... eh. Maybe.
