The ladies from Code Pink have more guts than that star studded prick
I have 1000 times more respect for them than those murderers with the ribbons and the suits on...

This dog and pony show is disgusting but totally expected here in the Amerikan Empire...

They have to fool most of the people most of the time and they do it well...

bread and circuses, bread and circuses...

Now, on to ryan crocker -- the latest apologist for the Emperor who wears no clothes.

without violence, I fully applaud. No, I can't be "out there" type activist, but it's those type (in your face) that gets attention and brings issues to the forefront.

Stopping this war is going to be a hard and nasty quest. IMO we're fortunate to have people (activists) who are willing to risk arrest (non-violent Resistance) in order to have our issues aired. :-)

19. My idea is, don't disrupt the hearings. Let our legislators do their jobs.
That's what we hired them for. Shouting from the balcony achieves nothing--it's not even spontaneous emotional reactions, it's obviously planned/staged sayings and interruptions, and I watched one Code Pinker making sure to get another lady's "drag-off" photographed on her cell phone--yuck. Downright silly, and does not help end the war.

what we the people hired them to do. which is why the founding fathers saw fit to enshrine the right not only to speak, but to petition our government into the constitution. it is not only our right to protest such a lying dog and pony show, it is OUR JOB! i am only sorry i am not there to pitch in.

26. Let THE LEGISLATORS Do The Job??? Oh, Of Course They've Done
such a GREAT job so far!!! And I DO realize that they don't have the votes in the Senate, but I say... let the Repukes filibuster all they want, but just keep sending the bill back again and again and again and again!

At least that MIGHT make them look like they're doing SOMETHING!! Right now they look like they're too AFRAID to push the envelope!! Most people here want this friggin' WAR over! It's going to blow up anyway, so why not show some backbone?? The Idiot just wants to run the clock down, thereby making it somebody else's WAR! I really feel so sorry for the Iraqis, but the blame belong to BFEE!! As my husband always when confronted with adversity... Get Some Shit In Your Neck! Beat them back with all you have!

ANYTHING is better than NOTHING!!

28. We need more of these disruptions
Voting in legislators to respresent us is only one of many ways we the people can change policy. Those in power need to see how passionate the anti-war segment of America is, and you can't say that a person who risks being thrown out of a hearing is not passionate.

to anything specific that was being said, they were just there to raise a ruckus and get thrown out--all theater, all of it stupid and ineffective.

By the way, have they restored Habeus Corpus yet?

38. Childish argument. It's the difference between engaging in silly theater
and presenting rational, sound argument to persuade people. But most on DU feel that silly theater is much more emotionally satisfying, I suppose.

"sound argument"...

They respond to their emotions and prejudices.

This "silly theater" is EXTREMELY useful because it highlights the deadly theater within which it was staged...

None of those assholes on the dias were there to be "persuaded by reasonable, rational arguments". They were there to make their political points and give the devil running the empire his platform for his lies...using his proxy Gen. Betray Us...

You might want to quit shitting on potential allies for their tactics and do some more study on what really moves movements and people...

6. Any General Officer, in the Field or at the Pentagon without the MORAL Courage to at least retire,
is IMO, as corrupt as the Neo-Cons who started this disaster, i.e., invasion and occupation of Iraq.

I love the military. Honest. I served in the active duty Army, as did my brother and father before me. BUT NOT NOW! I dis-courage all young people I am acquainted with to join Bush-Co's Army.

At least "Saint" Regan, even when his brain was soaked with Alzheimer's, had the common sense not to draw us toward World War f**king III. :(

May The Higher Power bless the heroic efforts of The Code Pink Ladies. :patriot:

When the primaries come up and the war is still in full force, vote for a candidate that you know will end this disgrace! If you are not willing to do that, move on to another issue that you will be basing your vote on. Complaining about the politics of this country and then falling into their game and voting one of the usual suspects in, will get you the same result. Always do the same thing, always get the same result. D.C. needs someone that will be completely opposite of what we have been dealing with, someone who cares about the people!
