How Many DU'ers Enjoy the Ed Schultz Show???
I think his show is the best liberal talk has to offer...
not at all like when he first started this week 3 hours with
Dennis Kucinich

www.wegoted.com

He seems to have the best guests and callers, I noticed Ed
has become the "go to" guy when checking the pulse of the
Democratic base...

1. I don't care if he's the best liberal talk so long as he isn't the best
progressive talk on the radio. I gave up on liberals a couple years ago.

Each to his own as far as likes and dislikes go, but my reaction to his voice is a quick dash to the on/off button.

2. I like Ed
I don't always agree with him, but he's a straight up guy and offers the best platform for Dems to get their message out there in the heartland.

3. I listen to Ed occassionaly
I'll give you one thing, he's got the biggest ego in liberal talk. He makes Randi seem coy...

Don't forget, his company Product First, is a deal between Ed and 2 of the BIGGEST names in CONSERVATIVE talk. Both Bush supporters.

That being said, I do listen from time to time, but I prefer Tom Hartmann by a long shot.

4. Used to, when we got it aired around here
But alas, the station was taken over by some "religious" guy and when that bombed, switched over to Spanish Language broadcasting. Schultz seems to be more of a "Joe six Pack" type than some others out there and I like that. Many don't, but they have a right to their opinions as well.

5. Listen on and off
sometimes I like him alot then others he is just a big blow head...he thinks he's great and talks about it and that bugs me...wish he would stick to other stuff.

But that being said...he is better than radio right all the time....and I prefer Thom too but sirius only does the first hour of his show and can't listen to rest unless i am online at AAR.

9. To each his own
I'll admit that I've only listened to him a few times. I'm a Hartmann fan because of the historical context injected into the discussion. I do find it irritating with Thom's propensity for stuttering, stammering and abuse of catch phrases and sound bytes. I would say that Ed is a more capable broadcaster but I don't see the show as being more informative.

Ed surely has an appeal to a good percentage of the public but I don't think I could qualify him as being a "go to guy". If you haven't heard them yet, check out Ian Master's Background Briefing http://www.ianmasters.org/ and This is Hell www.thisishell.net for shows with great guest's covering great subjects.

Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 02:22 PM by ProudDad
his political stance is pretty much for sale to the highest biddder...

IMHO...

On Edit: I turn it off when he starts whining about limp-balls being in more markets than he is when he's such a self-proclaimed "better talker" (whatever the f*ck that is?).

I have to turn it off often...

13. Ed Schultz
doesn't hold a candle to Mike Malloy IMHO. But I suspect he's influenced and perhaps made inroads with a number of Rush listeners. Malloy does better research.

And as for being Liberal/Progressive/Democratic, he's as phony as an Iraq War progress report.

17. I like Ed; I also like Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, Rachel Maddow
Jon Elliot, and others. I'm glad there is a diversity of style on progressive talk.

18. I can't stand him.
I wish I could; he's often on when I'm in my car tuned in to KPOJ AM -- Portland's Progressive Station. But, I have to say, I find my self flipping the dial to 94.7 FM Alternative Portland for some tunes. :)

19. Not only is he a de facto moderate Republican, he's ill-informed.
Ed disgusted me for the last time when he stated that there were valid reasons for stopping on the Fourth Amendment (and, hence, the Constitution) - in terms of not requiring an affidavit supporting a warrant prior to eavesdropping and illegally spying upon email. My point-of-view is that the FISA rules were most lenient. In any case, a warrant should always be required, with an attached affidavit authored by an officer with the facts supporting the warrant clearly delineated. If law enforcement can't come up with that, they are incompetent, and need to be fired on the spot.

If one does not have the minimal facts to support a warrant, one is FISHING, and that's what the founders clearly wanted to preclude (prevent).

20. Just like HRC, Big Eddie was a Republican eons ago... NEITHER are now.

Hell. Laura Bush used to be a Democrat. Do you still call her a Democrat??

I definitely don't always agree with Eddie.. I'm not a major Hillaryite like he is, and I get sick of him talking about football.

But for the most part, his show and his appearances on MSNBC and CNN rock!

Yeah, I don't agree with everything he says, but that's ok; he's on the money a lot more than not. A lot less annoying than Randi (although I agree with her most of the time too). Hartman is awesome but nothing wrong with a more moderate, folksy guy too, i.e. Big Eddie...I"m pleasantly surprised to that at least some of the people commenting like him also........I expected to one of very few.

24. He sounds like Limbaugh to me.
All the 'hunting and fishing' talk sounds pandering to the Field and Stream crowd.
