An Appeal from Ramsey Clark

Full message

The American people are confronted with the fact of a disastrous War of Aggression by George Bush and Company, based on obviously false and fabricated claims that the Bush Administration with all its resources is fighting fiercely to defend. The war has devastated Iraq, brought unbearable suffering to its people, destabilized the region and savaged Constitutional and human rights at home, while extolling summary execution, torture and unlimited arbitrary detention. It has brought unprecedented international hatred upon the United States and placed our country in greater political isolation than at any time in its history. Four thousand soldiers will have been killed by this month's end and 25,000 will have been left with life-limiting wounds.

Yet not a single member of Congress, major national political figure or candidate for the Presidency has called it a War of Aggression, held to be the Supreme International Crime by the Nuremberg Tribunal, an offense impeachable as a High Crime under the Constitution of the United States, or has any of them called for the impeachment of President Bush and his principal officials.

1. Clear and concise.
Plain as Day.

How can they be allowed to get away with it? The Dems are just as guilty, through their own complicity, as the White House.

2. Agreed, although some here probably think it would be more effective if

Ramsey had delivered this message wearing a pink tiara.

My point being of course that Ramsey demonstrates the right way of speaking out against the war and this administration. A way that focuses attention on the message, not the messenger.

3. Well put.
One thing I have always admired about him is the he (unlike your average D.C. type) has never been an "I, Me" kind of person.

8. A dig at Code Pink? I don't think ANYONE thinks Clark in a tiara would be more effective.

Seriously, do you? There is a time and place AND mode of delivery for everything.

10. It's a new morning, and in retrospective, I think FAR MORE people would have been
talking about Ramsey Clark's testimony if HE HAD been wearing a tiara and tutu. A lot more.

6. The tens of millions of Amurikans who still support the decider and his PNAC wet dream care not a
whit about any truth/reality Ramsey Clark speaks of. Houston, we have a problem here in Amurika.

7. Not interested in Ramsey's appeals any more than in Ron Paul's opinions.

The man crippled the anti-war movement more than any government agency could. Just by putting himself in front of it.
