Hillary Clinton to hold Va. campaign event with author Grisham

By the Associated Press
September 10, 2007

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Democrat Hillary Clinton is bringing her presidential campaign to Virginia this month for an event with bestselling author John Grisham, her campaign said Monday.

Clinton will visit the city's Paramount Theater for a discussion with Grisham, author of "The Firm," "A Time to Kill" and other bestselling legal suspense novels.

The Sept. 23 event will mark the second time since July that Clinton has campaigned in Virginia, a state that has supported a Democrat for president only once since 1952. She addressed a gathering of statewide county officials in Richmond in July.

Grisham was a Democratic member of the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1983 to 1990. He now lives with his family near Charlottesville.

1. Big Dem supporter for a long time
"near Charlottesville" means horse country and OOOOOLD and LARGE Virginia money. It is a bit of a hot spot for the ritzy crowd (Affleck/Garner etc.)

3. I like his books. I'd read his and not the ones Oprah recommend
her "selections" sure aren't my cup of tea. That aside, he is a heck of a better author than Critcheon the sci-fi, of all people, who doesn't believe in global warming. Now his so called sci-fi books suck also. I've never read one of them.
